We are staying at the CBR in March of 06 and I booked "preferred location", which I was told guarantees us water view.... Is this martinique?? TIA!

:earsgirl: The preferred room locations at CBR are the Martinque and Trinidad North locations, these are the closest to the Food Court and main pool, it does not mean you will have a water view. We just got back from an 8 night stay at CBR and we were in Martinque building 26 room 2612. Our room was a corner room, with a view of the parking lot. This was a great room location could not have asked for better. Hope you enjoy your stay!! We have been there 3 times. :teeth: Cant wait to go again next year if we are able too :earsgirl:

We stayed at CBR last Nov/Dec and had a preferred room which was in Trinidad North-lower level, can't remember the exact room number but our view was of bushes and trees not water but very pleasant. I believe it was preferred due to the fact that it was a short walk to the main pool, food court, and gift shop. Each group of buildings has its own bus stop and there is an internal bus service around the resort. We walked out our door across a parking lot to wait for the bus-it was really wonderful. The busses were never crowded. Our room was very quiet and pleasant. The resort has a very laid back feel and we appreciated that. CBR is a great resort.

Your water view could be anywhere in CBR. If you want to be in Martinique that would be another additional charge. Personally I think a water view is not worth the money. A view of a quiet pool is also a water view. I think the preferred locations are worth the money.

I've stayed at CBR twice, most recently in May. WDTC offers two reservation "upgrades" at CBR, each costing $15 per room per night. One is "preferred location," meaning closest to Old Port Royale, the location of the food court/sit-down restaurant/main pool/shops. The preferred locations are Martinique and Trinidad North, one on either side of OPR. The other is "water view" which should be self-explanatory. I asked numerous CMs (by phone) if I could reserve and pay for BOTH preferred location AND water view at a total extra cost of $30 per night, and I was told I could not do that. I was told I could pay for (and thus guarantee) only one, and that the other could be noted in the reservation as a request. (FYI, it was also impossible to reserve and pay for both on the website)

I agree with Safetymom, water view isn't worth the price. It's also possible that the water you will have a view of will be the village quiet pool rather than the lake (no, I'm not kidding!).

Most recently I paid for preferred location and got Trinidad North 3340, a corner room. It was a second floor room, and frankly was about as far away as you could get from OPR and still be in Trinidad North. I had a parking lot view. But you know what was the BEST thing about it? It was the closest room to the bus stop. I used the bus stop at least twice every day (usually more), but I there were some days I didn't go to OPR at all, and other days I was there only once.

Thanks everyone! We've payed for "preferred location" and from what you've all told me - this will work fantastically! I could care less about the water view (after 4 nights at CBR we start our 7 day eastern cruise!!! :boat: wooohooo) but with two kids 9 and 11, the short walk to the bus and pool will be worth the extra cost for preferred! Thanks again for all your insight! :flower3: :flower3:
