CBR preferred room--is it worth it?

We are looking into booking CBR and wondering if a preferred room is worth the extra $200 for the week. We will have a 1yo and no rental car. I don't want to spend the money and then find out that the building right next door is a cheaper standard room. Tell me what you think CBR experts.

Carribean Beach is a really large resort that is spread out around a lake. If your vacation would turn bad if you had a room on the opposite side of the resort from the main ammenities, then pay the extra money for a preferred room. If it would not bother you to be in a room with a 10-15 minute walk to the feature pool, shops, and dining, then save the money for something else.

We've never stayed at the CBR (it is not our moderate of choice), but we have visited a number of times. The talk of the LONG WALKS that you will need to do at the CBR (and the CSR) are overly exaggerated in my opinion, and I think this is mostly because you have to walk outside and not inside one building. I've had a room at the Contemporary that was a longer walk from our room to the food court or the pool then any walk at the CBR or the CSR (my best friend had the same experience at the AKL...he said it took him an additioinal five minutes from his room to the pool than it did from the convention center at the CSR to the farthest room).

I've walked from Trinidad South (the furthest building) at the CBR to the food court. It took us no more than five to seven mintues depending on our pace. Truthfully, I'm sure you'll have a stroller for your one-year old, and I'd keep the extra money and use it for souvenirs.
