CBR or Swan

O.K. I'm debating between CBR and the Swan for a 2 night stay before we check-in at BCV. This stay is for only relaxing and no parks. We first chose CBR because of it's beautiful setting and the food court. We're thinking of the Swan because of the $139 per night rate and DH just found out he has access to a SPG Gold card (we can get it through his work). Do you think it would be worth it for us to switch to the Swan? I've never visited, but this is just for a couple of relaxing pool days before we start park hopping. I'm also thinking against the Swan, since we'll be at BCV for the week after this stay and CBR would at least be in a different area. I like the Swan because we're Gold members, we should get a pretty good upgrade and that is swaying us that way. Please help us decide where we should stay!!!!

We have stayed at CBR and are looking forward to staying at the Swan in June. CBR's pool is very small IMHO. The Swan has the grotto pol with a few hot tubs, quite tropical with waterfalls. Also lots of on site dining options. We found CBR to be pretty but the pictures of the Swan look much more lush. Also since the Swan is a convention hotel you will probably find more chairs available at the pool. the CBR pool was quite crowded last March. It was an okay resort I just think that the Swan is beter but again it's just MHO. I say go for the Swan!! Good luck!

I would go Swan/Dolphin as well especially if you are lucky enough to try for and get the $81 rooms on hotwire

Try the Swan, do some research on it here on the boards and see what you think.

We myself,DH, DS9, and DD7, were booked at POR started to look into the Swan and got a very good rate at Club Level. Cancelled POR and they just applied it to my AKL reservations. AKL is thru CRO, I booked Swan thru DreamsRes Unlimited over the net.

I would think with the SPG Gold you would be more likely to get an upgrade in an already deluxe resort. I guess I would go for the Swan as the CBR is very nice but is a mod. Plus while you are not *right* in the same area as BCV, it is an Epcot resort (as opposed to being right near MK or something). If your budget allows pick the Swan and enjoy the resort's amenities!

I have stayed in both resorts. If you're on a budget, the food court at CBR might be just what you need. If not, go for the Swan. It's a beautiful resort with deluxe amenities in a great location!

If you weren't staying at the BC I'd definitely say you should take the Swan over the CBR. The Swan has a better pool, more amenities, better dining options, access to the Boardwalk for a non-park evening, larger rooms, a possible upgrade. The Swan just has more to offer than the CBR. However.......................

The CBR is very nice. While there won't be as many things to do if you are just going to hang around the resort, it might be nice for a change of scenery.

In the end, I guess I'd take the Swan, especially since you will be spending all your time those days at the resort. However, you can't go wrong if you decide on the CBR.

First, let me say I love CBR, It was our first on-site trip with dd twelve years ago. There are no better memories than the first trip. We have stayed at CBR numerous times and have always had a great time. Our first trip to Swan was just this past Jan. and we loved it. Location, location, location! If you are not going into the parks, there is more to do with the Boardwalk nearby and mini golf across the street.
