Hello all! Taking a quick September trip for a bday. We are two 60 + year olds. Love the skyliner. We have stayed at POP before, but thinking of trying CBR. Of course it will be close to $200 more. If we choose CBR, what are the pros and which section would we request and how do we make requests. Thanks!

CBR is a very large resort. Will you have a car?

We love Pop so that would be our recommendation .
We will have a car. Thinking that maybe we can drive to a closer spot to the skyliner if we are too far away?? I know that kind of defeats the purpose, but I’m a weirdo. I’ve traveled to Disney many times. I love staying at resorts that I’ve never visited before. CBR is one of those.

To me I wouldn't spend that much more and chance being far from skyliner. POP would be my choice (yes stayed at both) so I didn't waste time on a short trip.

But if you are only going for a weekend that would be the time to test the waters, the size of resort, driving closer to skyliner if need be. I'd hate to stay a week and decide it was too much.

For a quick trip I'd definitely go POP.
Much less expensive, much smaller so easier to get around, doesn't have multiple bus stops, plus it does have the Skyliner if that's what you're looking for.
CBR may be the Skyliner hub but comes at a cost and just really isn't a great pick if you're not spending time at the resort.

Speaking as a 60+ year old who also travels wiith similar aged friends and family, I think you can't go wrong. Pop is my first choice for trips where we aren't spending tons of time at the resort. It's great. I've also stayed at CBR and like the larger rooms and the theming. If you've always wanted to stay at CBR, do it!

Pop has always been our go-to for smaller vacations and it has the best vibe of all the values.

Will you be going to the parks? What's your game plan for the weekend?

If you plan on going to the parks: Pop.

CBR is one of our favorite resorts. The room will be larger than the POP rooms. If swimming is part of your resort stay, the quiet pools at CBR are some of the best.

At almost 70 years old, I would choose CBR over POP, especially if it is a resort that is on your list. The grounds are nice and the food selection is more diverse with a food court, table restaurant, and access to the restaurants at Riviera.

At cbr you get right on the skyliner. If you stay at pop you have to switch at the cbr station. We prefer cbr, but have a November trip planned for pop, cbr wasn’t available. We do like to walk and walking to Riviera is nice.

We've stayed at both, POP is great, but I totally love the theming at CBR, that would be my choice.

The internal bus system will also take you to the main Skyliner station.
Which is the problem we had with CBR. I don't mind the park buses, but to then also have to take a bus to get around the resort was just too much time on buses. My vote goes to POP.

To be fair, you can walk around the resort...

Sure - if you have the time. It really depends on the room you are assigned. We didn't like it, it's not for us. YMMV
Fair enough. But I've found most of the time I can get where I need on my feet faster than waiting for the internal shuttle.

I was more just letting others who might now know know that you don't HAVE to take the internal shuttle.
