Hubby and I are thinking of staying here in Dec. We are going from WDW to Miami for 7 day cruise and that the Caribbean might set us in the tropical mood. Never stayed here before. I have heard that it is a huge resorts here are the questions.

What section to stay in that is close to the bus but not too noisy

Do they have coin laundry? If so what section is that in?

How bad is the bus system in early Dec. Dec 7-11?

Welcome to the DIS. There is a laundry located at each quiet pool in every village. There are several bus stops. It isn't a far walk to any of them.

You might want to visit the CBR FAQ's listed below. You will love CBR.

we stayed there that time last year and never waited more then 10 minutes for a bus.

I agree with pugdog - we stayed from 12/5-12/11 last year, and bus service was always prompt. We were in Jamaica building 45, right across from the end of the footbridge that goes over the lagoon to Old Port Royale. It was a very short and pleasant walk, and our location was very quiet - we hardly ever heard a soul.

We have stayed several times at CBR usually before transfering to DVC. Much cheaper on the weekends instead of using points.

My kids always ask to go back. Any section we have stayed in was a short walk to a bus stop. All bus stops are centered well between islands. CBR's grouping of buildings are named after islands. CBR is a large resort and it holds alot of rooms, but even when it was full at spring break, it never felt that way and we would have never known, if wasen't for a bus driver. Disney has put alot of thought into this resort. The only thing I would do is to request a ground floor if you have a stroller as there is only stairs. Also, at night you can see fireworks from the beach next to the Trinadad North
pool--very neat!!
We really like the laid back feel of this report.

When I was there in September, the busses ran pretty good. Except for one night we had just missed the Pleasure Island bus and had to wait about 40mins for another one. And it was just as bad coming back. The bus guy at PI ended up putting us on the POP bus and had that guy drop us off.

But the resort is beautiful. We really liked it. I would request a room in either the Jamaica building closest to the bridge, or Aruba. Don't remember the building numbers at this time.

I also loved lying in the hammock on the beach (see picture under my user name :) ).
