CBR - Distance to rooms from check-in

Going to CBR in late Sept!

After checking in to the CBR how far do you have to walk to your room? Do you have to walk far with your luggage? I am concerned that some members of our party won't be able to carry their luggage far.

Check in at CBR is done in a seperate building set apart from the rest of the resort called the Customs House. From there you drive to the area you are assigned to and park. Each is named after an island (I recommend Jamaica) and each contains several buildings. The distance from the parking lot to your room will varie depending on the island and the building you are assigned to, but its never very far. Two or three minutes at most.

What if you don't have a car? Is it walkable with luggage? Or can you have the luggage brought to your room?

We have always used a car, so I am less familiar with this. It is quite a distance from the customs house to the rest of the resort. I wouldn't recommend walking it. There is a bus that just circles the entire resort (its a BIG place), stopping at each island and the customs house. This would be preferable to walking.

There is bell service. This from allearsnet: "Check-in is at 3 pm, at the Custom House. Your room might be available prior to 3 pm, but that is not guaranteed. If your room is not available, you can leave your luggage with Bell Services and use the main pool (lockers, changing areas, and public restrooms are at poolside), or you can head out to a theme park. Your luggage will be delivered to your room."

Also from allearsnet regarding check out: "You can call Bell Services to take your luggage to your car. If you are taking a bus or taxi to the airport, Bell Services will keep your luggage at the Custom House until your transportation arrives."

My family was at CBR last year, and I can't imagine it has changed. We didn't have a car, after we checked in a van came and took our luggage and us to our room. The bellman showed us to our room and then brought our luggage in. Same thing on the way back, they sent the van to pick us and our luggage up.

Ditto what sleigh mentioned. We were also at CBR last year and Bell Services delivered us and our luggage to our room.

They won't make you walk to your building. I would check in whenever you arrive instead of waiting until after 3. If the room is ready they will take you over, if it isn't they will hold your luggage until the room is ready.

You can check in, get your room keys and head off to the parks or elsewhere. They will give you a number to call if the rooms isn't ready when you check in.
