CBR - Did I make a mistake?

I will be staying at the CBR in August and was wondering if there is a freezer in the refrigerator. We would use it just to freeze water bottles.
How's this for an accurate answer that won't provide you any answer at all:

We had 2 connecting rooms in May 2005 (Trinidad North 3339 and 3340). One room's fridge had a SMALL freezer compartment (that fit one or maybe 2 16.9 oz. water bottles), and the other room's fridge had NO freezer compartment whatsoever.

I guess this means you can't count on it but you might get lucky.

As you will hear as many positive remarks as negative remarks about just about all of the resorts, I firmly believe you should go with your gut feelings and stay where it appeals to you. Things can and do go wrong for people at all the resorts, so there will be negative remarks about places others rave about.

We want to eventually say we've tried all the resorts. Some we return to time and again, like the BWI. Others, we will not go back to.

We had a less than stellar stay at CBR. Some things were just chance/bad luck. CRO made an error when we called to shorten our stay. They should have simply modified the existing ressie but instead they re-made a new one. They did something to the ressie that made my preferred location room change to a preferred view room. Don't want to go on too long about this again, but believe me, with an elderly parent along, I really wanted that preferred location. At check in, they were not friendly or accomodating in the least. It was hard for her to climb the stairs too to our room every time we left it. (they said there were no first floor rooms) I think the fact that I was worried about my mom was the worst part. The lack of maid service (had to call and request them to show up at the end of each day) and shabby room only added to it.

But, like I said, so many people here have had wonderful stays there and can't believe the conditions we were subjected to while there. The problems we had could happen at any resort. But because they happened at CBR, we didn't like it there.

I really couldn't have said it better myself.

We also had a bad experience at CBR, and if you were to take out ADisneygirl's reference to her mom and insert 20 month old son in it's place you pretty much have a description of our stay. (We didn't change our rooms, but after checking in at 11-12, we didn't get into our room until 5 and only after the one GREAT CM we worked with at CBR (Ryan) switched rooms for us.)

However, that doesn't make the resort bad. Just our experience and I personally will not stay there again because of the overall service we received on our first trip.

I too was worried about the "questionable reviews" when I booked our December 2005 trip. CBR was WONDERFUL! We even stayed in Trinidad South (I think it was South... it was the next to the last area). Buses weren't a problem, though it was the week before Christmas and MANY were operating. We even ate at Old Port Royale and it was very good and the food court was good too.
My DS fell out of bed the first night about 1:30AM! (There beds seemed high to me too.) But I called the desk and they had someone bring up 2 safety bed rails for his bed. The came FAST!! Great response.
Then our "neighbor" was very loud at verbally abusing his family. It was absolutely disgusting. They had an infant and he screamed at it for crying. I called the desk and they said they would send security around more often; I dont' know if they did or not. After 3 days of it, I decided I couldn't take it anymore and called the desk again and they changed rooms for us. They sent someone up to help us carry our luggage and were quite helpful and apologetic for something that wasn't their fault.
<br>For us we will stay there again -- no question.

We stayed in Trinidad North several times, and it was only a short walk to the food court. We liked it a lot and would stay there again.

CBR is my LEAST fav moderate resort ... and I've stayed at them ALL!! One thing that was good about CBR ... we received water view connecting rooms in Martinique (preferred bldg) and we were NOT charged extra!! Like someone else said, the rooms seem shabby compared to other resorts.

Just my opinion ... Coronado Springs in the BEST Moderate!!
