Is there a Catholic mass anywhere in Walt Disney World? My mother would like to go this weekend.

Anyone know if there is a shuttle for either of these churches? I know we can Lyft or Uber but I’m just curious. If I were in charge of one of these two churches I’d set up a donation-based shuttle and also make a quick stop at a family-friendly point of interest after Mass. Like a donut shop. 😋 Just sayin…

😉 We’ve taken a taxi from what is now Disney Springs in the past on trips when we didn’t have a car. They will do a pick-up return trip or you can call when you leave the church. Uber would also work well. The shrine is quite close.

Ooooh - transfer to/from Disney Springs. That's a great idea! Then I can find my own yummy donuts!! Or perhaps a giant chocolaty cookie... 😇

Thank you!!

We’ve gone to mass many times from WDW. Aside from Christmas and Easter, there’s no mass on-site, or accessible by shuttle.

We have gone multiple times each to Mary Queen of the Universe, Corpus Christi (Celebration), and St. Faustina (Clermont).

St. Faustina is in a shopping center (they’re raising money to build a “real” church. It’s a fine parish, but it seems that there are few visitors. Ushers have seated us in the very front facing the congregation on multiple occasions. We probably won’t return unless it’s the only mass time that works for us.

Corpus Christi feels more like a regular parish than the other two. Mostly regulars. I felt uncomfortable wearing non-dressy clothes there (we didn’t have time to make it back to the hotel to change).

Mary Queen of the Universe is our preference. It’s not a “normal” parish - it exists exclusively for tourists. It’s a massive church, so you don’t have to worry about seating.

There are also online streams, too.

I was about to mention this. Despite not living in Chicago, I have been doing virtual church with my family spread between Philly, Chicago, and AZ at Old St. Pat’s in Chicago. They have been doing virtual mass at 11 Eastern/10 Central since the lockdown started and have gotten pretty good at it. They also have a killer music team. Fair warning, they are a fairly progressive Catholic Church (works for my family, but not for everyone). Here is the link: https://livestream.com/oldstpats

In our parish, the dispensation allowing virtual mass to take place of in-person mass has been taken away - you only have dispensation to not attend mass in-person if you are sick or have had exposure.

If I’m comfortable traveling to Disney, I’m comfortable attending mass.

The gift of in-person mass is the ability to physically receive the Eucharist, which isn’t something you can do in the same way virtually.

(Genuinely not trying to be combative, just to discuss.)

Fair, where I am, masses aren’t fully open yet and also I appreciate going to mass with my family, even if it’s virtual. Granted, personally, I get more out of the liturgy of the word than the liturgy of the Eucharist (which I know is not right), but also my connection to the Catholic Church is so connected to attending mass with my family that I am ok with that decision. Totally respect your point though.

Mary Queen of Universe is a beautiful Basiclla and is very close to Disney. Worth the little trip.
