Catholic Mass on cruise

Is there a Catholic mass on the cruise I might be going on the Jan. 8 2005 cruise. Is there anyway to do mass before the ship leaves.

They have an inter-denominational service on Sunday.

Mass and services are Sunday on the 7 night cruise. On our Easter they had a sunrise mass.

Mass seems to be hit or miss depending on the cruise dates. We were on the Magic on Palm Sunday and there was no mass. In addition, we did not make it to Key West in time to attend mass there. Prior to our trip I spoke with parish priest and he told me that we should try to check out a church at one of our other ports and do the best we can.

it really depends on if you happen to have a priest onboard or if you are there for a holiday. For holidays they try to book priests so they will have mass and if a priest happens to be onboard then they will let him say mass =)

You can attend various churches in the area before your cruise depending on where you are staying. You can check http://www.masstimes.org
to find a church in the area- but you should call to confirm the times listed because some churches do not update their info.

You should totally be able to get to an early AM mass or sat night mass prior to boarding on sunday, if you are on the boat sat night and the cruise ends sunday morning then you could still make a noon mass or an evening mass. We have 5pm sunday mass at a few parishes here in VA.

We had a priest, and therefor Mass, on our Easter 2003 7 day. I was told that they only arrange for a priest is at Easter and Christmas. I believe he said Mass everyday.

The 1/8/05 Magic is sailing the eastern caribbean. Sunday is a day at sea. On Saturday you board between 11:30 am and 4:00 pm. Most Saturday masses have to be after 5pm to fulfill a Sunday obligation.

If you consult your parrish priest, I'm sure he'll advise you. I'll be in the same boat (hehe) in February. Let us know how it goes!

I was on a cruise where a Catholic Priest was a passenger and he performed Mass each morning. That was the only time of the 8 cruises that I've been on that I can recall having a Catholic service onboard.
