Hello Cruisers,

Our family of four is trying to book a Disney cruise for sometime next year. We have enough money to buy up to a category 9. Is it worth getting to the highest category we can get? Also, can we request a specific room like 7035 which is a category 11 but up on deck 7? or do you just get the cheapest room you can get and save money for onship stuff or excursions?
Thanks for any advice and help you can give.

Yes, you can request a specific room. The category 12 will only hold 3 people, so that one can probably be marked off your list. If you get a category 11 toward the back of the ship on deck 7, there is large deck available for use. That way you save money and get to spend some time convenient to your room outside.

With a family of four, one thing to keep in mind is the bathroom set-up. In categories 9 & 10, it is a split bathroom configuration (one bath with toilet and sink, the other bath with shower and sink). Categories 11 & 12 have the single bathroom with shower, toilet and sink all in one.

Having the split bath can make it easier for four to get ready for dinner, shows, etc.

ok here is what we would do we would go with cat 10 deck 5
they r sold as in side staterooms but have a port hole
with a slightly obstructed view and u get split bath witch is great for getting ready in AM.
u can go to Barbs site www.castawayclub.com and see the rooms they r also known as Secret Porthole rooms
i think u will be happy if u can get one of the 6
rooms and the #'s r 5020 5022 5024 5520 5522 5524
5020 is probaBLY THE BEST ONE IF U CAN GET IT..
or 5520 very convient location down one deck to stores and shows good luck peter

Thanks my3kids, Cindy and Peter for your replies. With a 15 year girl I think a split bath would be a neccesity. I'm calling today so wish me luck. Our sailing date is May 31, 03, so long time to wait!

We are cruisin!
We booked a category 9, deck 2 room for May 31st. Some of my other choices - that had been been mentioned earlier on this thread had already been chosen. Busy cruise - with school just being let out and Summer activites not in full swing yet.
It's going to be a great time!

Just a suggestion, you might want to call and check on the availability of those more desirable cabins as you get closer to the start of the penalty period (60 days before departure). If the economy does not recover as quickly as people anticipated, many reservations may Magic-ally get cancelled around that time...;)

Thanks MFan,
Great idea!
Is there a web site or a way that you can monitor the room vacancies of your specific trip? When something else that might be better comes along then you can get reserve it.

Thanks
