Is it true that you can only book a Category 1, 2 or 3 cabin as part of a Land & Sea package? I tried to book a Category 2 cabin on the Wonder. I was told that I could only book Categories 1-3, if I booked a Land & Sea package.

I do not need a Land & Sea package, as we are DVC members, and we will be staying at WDW on points. I know that you can only use DVC points for Categories 4-12, so I planned on paying cash for the cruise, because I wanted the 2-bedroom.

I was told that Categories 1-3 are reserved for Land & Sea packages, but if they are not booked by the 30-day-out mark, they do become available for cruise-only bookings. Is this true? Has anyone had success booking 30-days-out?

of course, we started by booking two cat 4s and were offered the cat 1 about a month out. we only did the cruise. while we flew in two nights in advance, we stayed at okw on points.

i've never heard of only being able to book if land and sea, but i have an excellent reservationist at dcl who's been there from the beginning. if you want her name, please email me at dizneykids@themeparks.com. there hasn't been one thing we've thrown at her that she hasn't already known the answer or been able to accomodate.

That is true for the 3- and 4-night cruises, the Cat. 1-3 suites are reserved for land/sea packages up until 30 days prior to the sail date. At that point they are made available to those who want to book the cruise only.
