Two days ago, my father (74) had cataract surgery. When he went bacck for follow-up the next day, they said his surgery had gone "bad" and the cataract had broken up and had pieces floating in his eye. He had to go to another specialist, go back in, and is having more surgery today. I've never heard of this-cataract surgery going "bad". Has anyone else experienced it or heard of it? Is this a serious complication or does it happen frequently? I'm 2000 miles away from elderly parents and sometimes things get lost in translation. Can anyone help me understand this?
. I have known many people, incl my Mom, who had this surgery, but truthfully, have never heard of anything more serious than floaters. I hope you get some replies who can offer info and help put your mind at ease. I'm sending prayers your Dad's way.

MEN!! He is only 57 and thought he was too young for cataracts.
