We've sailed as an 11 several times. DD does like a window, but I point out that we can do more cruises if we book lower. You (we) really don't spend time in the cabin. We had a 6 once. Unfortunately, it was July (I'll never do that again), was 106 degrees, and we couldn't use the verandah at all.
Reality is that for us, I'd rather save a few hundred dollars and book an 11 or 12. Yes, people do sail in 1,2,and 3...and those people have a few perks. However, when I pay $799 for a 7 day and they pay $4000....I'd rather go on 4 cruises.
The suites can be a good deal IF you have a party of 6 or 7. We're fine in an 11. We have booked gty 12 and gotten 11 on our next cruise. The 11 and 12 do have a single bathroom (rather then the double room), so if there are more than 2 or 3 of you, you might like the split bath of a 10.
