We are planning to book our first Disney Cruise soon and can't decide between the cat. 8 and Cat. 9 rooms. Any advice would be appreciated. Also, if we go with Cat. 9, what rooms would you recommend? Thanks!

We have been on the Magic twice and loved our cabin both times!
We had 2026 the first year and 2024 this year. They are close to forward elevators and we could be up on deck 9 at the hot tubs in two minutes! It was also great for going onshore because we were one deck above the gangways. I would highly recommend them!

We always have cat 9 aft. I belive it is on the noisy room list, but we find it okay. Noise only the last day coming back to port when the ship is docking. Close to the aft elevators and to everything else.

If u r thinking of Cat 8 or Cat 9 maybe u could go with Cat 10

There r 6 rooms on the ships that r sold as Cat 10 deluxe inside stateroom ,,BUT actually have a porthole view slightly obstructed
the room numbers are 5020 5022 5024 5520 5522 5524

They r called Secret Porthole Rooms they book up very fast but u may be able to get one .....

It would save u $600.00 from the cat 8 or $300.00 from the cat 9

they are on Deck 5 and we like the location just fine...

If u go to this website www.castawayclub.com

and click on Secret porthole rooms u can see actual pictures of the rooms taken by others... Good luck that is what I would....

We had 2026 on the 3/6/04 cruise and while I liked the location, the bathroom had a very bad sewer smell and was very noisy below us on port days. Lots of metal grinding and slamming sounds. I assume because it's directly over the deck 1 door that you use to get off the ship!

WE have kids and would prefer the Cat 8s on Deck 5 & 6 because of the club and lab. But for our 4/05 sailing the Cat 8 is $500 more so we went with Cat 9 on deck 2. The cat 10 SPHs are nice, we had one on our 11/03 sailing but couldn't get one for 05.

We had category 9, deck 2 (2554) on our first cruise and loved it. Our next cruise we will also have cat. 9, deck 2 (2102).

I would go with the cat. 9. Why pay more $ for the same cabin? I know cat. 8's are on a higher deck, but I don't really see the advantage.
