I need your help. My family is planning on going on DCL for our second cruise in July/August 2006. Our question is this. We will be travelling with me, DH, DS(9) and DS(4). The first time we crusied there were just 3 of us and we booked a Cat 6 verandah as a 10th anniversary celebration. My husband thinks that we can save some money by booking a different cabin this time. I have some concerns about how comfortable it is in the Cat 11 or Cat 8 with the number of people that I have described?? Also has anyone ever booked a Cat 6 and then moved to another Cat and been happy with their choice?? Any help would be greatly appreciated. We are trying to sort this all out so that as soon as 2006 dates come out we are ready with our deposit to book!!
Thanks in advance for all of your help:)

Kathy

Try pricing two connecting CAT 10's. If you don't need a veranda or a window, you get the benefit of double the space and two bathrooms.

Be careful, two adjoining CAT 10's are not two connecting CAT 10's is DCL lingo.

Again, I believe a CAT 10 is the same as a CAT 6 in floor space, just without a veranda.

Thanks for the suggestion but since my boys are only 9 and 4 at the time of cruising I don't think I would be comfortable with giving them their own room. Also if I did that wouldn't I be charged full fare adult price for them?? If that was the case how would that be cheaper than a Cat 6??

just thought I would bump this up in case anyone has any other ideas:)

Thanks

We had 4 in our cat 10 this past October, and really it was fine. The only thing our stateroom was used for was sleeping, and dressing/changing. If it would mean the difference between going and not going, save the money and go for the Cat 10. We have a Cat 11 and cat 6 booked this time, but only because it will be our 4th cruise, and we have never had a verandah. I want to try it just once.

Amanda thanks for the feedback but now I have another question. We just went and got a book on DCL just to look at the cabins again and it says you can't have 4 people in a Cat 10?? Has this changed since you cruised. What were the ages of the people in your cabin??

Thanks:)

Kathy

Most Cat. 10s sleep 4 people, but there are some rooms that don't have the pull down bunk. If you have 4 in your party, DCL will make sure you are in a room that sleeps 4.

We have sailed 4 times, three in a Cat. 11 and once in a Cat. 10. My twin DDs are 10 now. We have always had the most wonderful time and loved our cabins.

West jones...Thanks for clarifying the info about the Cat 10 cabin. It is good to know that we would be comfy in a Cat 10 with 4 people!!
