Castle Rehab Scheduled per Screamscape!

We are taking our daughter for her first trip to disney for Halloween. So much for a nice picture in front of the Castle. :sad2:

Does anyone have any other pics of what it looks like. Maybe some from mainstreet. I am trying gauge how "upset" I am going to be when we go.

Are the walls around the entire castle or just the crane? can u see the crane or walls from the front of the castle?

The last time we went we sprung for the Poly and the pool was closed for rehab (2000) and they could light the torches!

This is twice now. :furious: We have no luck what so ever.

You won't see much of a difference from Main Street when the crane is there. If you look at the pictures I posted it is pretty hard to see the crane.

I think some are more worried about the walls they put up.

Do you have any pictures of the front of the Castle when they had the crane and walls up last time?

I honestly don't remember any walls (at least in front of the castle) when we were there when they were putting the decorations up.

I think it stinks that they would do this during the Holiday season . Why can't they wait till Jan. What a bummer. Personally I love the Castle the way it is now. Gives it that special look.

I also like the castle the way it is now. Thank goodness we go in August before it goes under construction.

They also were working on the hub when the crane was there so there were walls up . They weren't up around the Castle at all. That won't happen this time. I figured if I posted those pictures people would be confused.

dang. :O( I hope that its completed earlier than the rumored anticipated date. :O(

Some may say its 'not that bad' but to others, it is.

We arrive December 2nd. Shame on me for thinking we would be 'safe' from castle rehab during the taping of the Christmas parade. :guilty:

Hopefully it's not painted in that horrible pink paint that they did for the 25th.

Will it actually take 3 months to paint the outside or is that including all of the time inside as well?

Hopefully the barriers will be down by my trip in November. I'm guessing they'll have the outside finished before December, as that won't look good on tv for the Christmas parade.

There is another post on the Theme Parks board saying that the rehab is only till 10/10. She spoke with Disney Photography and they are the ones that told her. :confused3

*sigh* our CRT resses are on the 10th...

bah at least we will see it the few days before

Well, there's something positive. Still wish I could've seen the HCOE decor. Thanks for the info!

Hi guys! I have to admit that I am a little disappointed about this. :sad2: I've been planning this trip for 2 years and I'm taking my Mom and sister for their first time. We have ressies for CRT breakfast Oct. 1 and I wanted a lot of photos taken of us on Main Street in front of the beautiful castle. Did anyone have their photos taken in front of the castle during the last construction? Could you see the crane in the photo? Thanks!

Great we have ADRs at CRT on Sept. 10. :sad2:

Me too. That's my first day at Disney and I have dinner ADRs at the castle. I am disappointed that they are taking the stuff down (in my opinion) too soon.

:guilty: Blech! So those of us going in early October have to pay regular season rates, can't get in on the free dining, won't get to see Cinderellabration and will see the castle getting redone for others to enjoy in the future? SUPER! I know we'll have a wonderful time anyway, but that's just a little disappointing...... :sad2:

My sister in law's friend is a manager at WDW and she told me (after I called her FREAKING OUT, I know, I am obsessed & crazy) that her friend says the "construction" is from 9/14-10/10, that it is touch up paint (huh?) for areas where the decorations come down. The chamber room suite will be completed by 10/01, they are working on it now. They are doing a big kickoff event for the Year of Dreams thing on 10/01 in the park, so it would be doubtful they'd want it all torn up for that press event, imo, but maybe my sis in law is lying to make me feel better????

Thanks for sharing. This date of 10/10 goes along with what another poster posted in another thread.

Interesting.
