Castle....I love this show!

I'm not SO big on the actress who plays Beckett; I guess she just seems too model-like for a NYC police officer and I'm having a hard time going with it.

Same here. It's not just b/c of being model-like...but they make her out to be the best detective ever...but I just keep noticing that Castle's connections and knowledge are getting cases solved, not necessarily her!

Though she was smiling a bit more "real" on the last episode (that we saw, at least) and I found I liked her more.

It's sad that I'm letting things like this bug me, it seems so wrong, but her hair is driving me batty. Same thing happened when we were watching Cold Case and the Lilly character was doing this weird mullet thing with her hair.

Then again, I let things like that bother me about male characters in shows/movies, too, so I guess I'm just easily distracted by things like that.

love, love, love Castle!!!! DD12 watched the Halloween episode with me and got hooked. I bought her Season 1 for Xmas - and got DH hooked - especially now that Monday night football is over!! He does have to watch his "24" first!

I agree with the person that mentioned his facial expressions - you have to WATCH him!!!!!! His emotions are just so on - no matter what you see him in (well, except maybe Des. Housewives - his talent was wasted in that!)

Still have to watch the Buffy episodes he is in.

I also LOVE Firefly and Serenity - got my family into those too!

check him out on Twitter - he can be pretty funny there too!

Anybody caught Gunn's PG Porn episode(hope I can say that)??? or Dr Horrible's??????

I adore Nathan Fillion. I have been a huge fan since he took over the role of Joey Buchanon on ONE LIFE TO LIVE... many, many, many moons ago.

He is HOT for sure! I also like to think he would be a really nice friendly, easy going guy IRL.

I just love Castle. I knew I'd seen him (Nathan Fillian) before, but couldn't place him. I've never seen or heard of Firefly though, but after reading this thread the Halloween episode is even funnier. I may need to get the book too.

hahaha! i wondered if anyone would remember nathan fillion from OLTL! he played joey buchanan WAY back when. i was a teenager, and i remember how cute he was back then. i've never seen firefly, but i got the reference. the writing on this show is AMAZING! the banter reminds me of gilmore girls.

This is my absolute favorite hour of TV every week. I love everything about it. The cast is perfect. The dialogue is wonderful and it makes me laugh more than any other show.

After Season 1, I bought Firefly on DVD just to see Fillion in something else. Dh and I adored it and have watched the series and Serenity over and over. We even got to go to the Firefly convention in L.A. a couple months ago.

I have the Castle book, seen Dr. Horrible and the PG um... thing ...someone else mentioned , and follow Fillion on twitter. It is so cool to hear about upcoming episodes as they are being filmed. I have saved every episode on the DVR and won't delete them until the DVD comes out.

One that comes to mind immediately is the one from 2 weeks ago when Alyssa Milano guest starred and her mother was in the room and not being too friendly with Castle. Beckett said to him something to the effect of "Just think she could've been your MIL" and he shuddered...Perfect!

I'm going to look for the book.

yeah, loved that...it was something like , "and who you could be spending every Thanksgiving with "...... and I love how he didn't shudder right away! He thought about it, thought about it , thought about it..and then huge shudder - totally engrossed in his own thoughts as Beckett goes on talking. Might seem silly to some - but it is those nuances that make me love Fillion and this show!!!!!

Watched last night's episode today and as usual LOVED IT!

Loved Castle's face when he saw the big hairy spider.

Was surprised to see Sarah Brown (Claudia from General Hospital) on as B#3. She looked great as a blond!

DH and I like this show and enjoy watching it off the DVR. I confess I did not even know the actors name and certainly didn't get any of the references mentioned here in this thread.

So the show appeals not only to long-time Filion (sp?) fans but also to newbies like me who were prior fans (I've never heard of firefly and don't watch any soaps) I just like how Castle is with his daughter and I love the mother! To me they have softened Beckett a bit, her hair is different and somehow she looks less severe than before - I think it is a great show.

I wanted to buy the book the other day at the store but DH gave me grief about falling for the marketing hype - now that I know others enjoyed it I'll be picking it up!

Thanks for teaching me something about this show. Not a day goes by that I don't learn something from the dis!
