cant help you but by your title I’m guessing this will be your first Disney cruise. Congrats your going to love it.

Do it on your own, whenever, then stop by the bike rental shack for your medal. It's the nice rubber medal that's Castaway Cay specific, not the "winner" ones from the trivia. They can also show you the map where to run, basically start at the shack, out to the loop to the tower, out to Serenity Bay, the loop to the tower again, back to the shack. Info current as of late Nov 2021.

My day started at 3am AND unfortunately we haven't been on a Disney cruise since 2018. It's a rough combo.

We were on the double dip Halloween cruise on the Fantasy. It is not organized like before, you just do it on your own and go to the bike shack
to get your medal.

To add to this, If you’re keeping track of time yourself, just be prepared to potentially have an awful personal performance. The lack of people around me meant that I walked or ran slower than I would have because there was no one pushing me. When I ran it, there was barely anyone doing it. Some stretches of that loop I wouldn’t see anyone in front or behind me.

Also, there’s no sign for the bike shack to get your medal, you just go up to it.
