Castaway Cay Questions

Castaway Cay literally takes the cruise ship to shore. All of the food will be provided, etc. My family always likes to rent bikes and ride the bike trails. There is a cool outlook location on one of the bike trails that has a unique view of the ship. If you want to have adult time, the kids clubs are on Castaway Cay, and you can travel to the adult beach. That is our favorite location. There is also a food location at the adult beach as well. You can also get a massage in a cabana by the adult beach. I have done that and that is really relaxing. Getting pictures with the characters in their beach gear is also a lot of fun. Castaway Cay is our favorite port. You will have a great time with whatever you decide to do.

Another thing we have done is made castaway Cay a half day, and went back to the ship to have little to no line for the Aquaduck.

Incase you might be interested, Jack Sparrow makes a surprise visit usually on the adult beach at some point (This can change I'm sure).

We did a Back to Back in February this year. Weather was chilly and windy on deck at sea. On the island it was pleasant, but the water was quite chilly. As for other activities you could do, there is a walking or bike trail to an observation tower, you can rent bikes or water tricycles. You could also head back to the ship and enjoy the hot tub or a movie.

I have been on two DCLs with stops in CC in Feb.
One time it was too cold to get in the water.
One time you could get in and after you got used to the temperature of the water, we had no issues with swimming.

I am going in January and was wondering how hard is it to get covered beach chairs? we have three young kids that will be going with us as well

This should give you an idea of what the family beach looks like (well later in the day, a lot more people would be in the picture )


At the end of the day, the CM's fold up the umbrellas.
