The maps you link to are actually from the National Hurricane Center. The info there is quite detailed, noy only on Frances, but on every hurricane involving North America.

Hi All, We just got off the Wonder today. What happen to us is that we lost our day at sea so that we could go back to CC and have the wonder staff help close up the island and then have the island dwellers get on the ship. It appears that CC is right in line with Francis and it doesnt look good. What was cool is that we went to Freeport the night before so that the wonder could re-fuel for todays sail. We had a barge pull up to us at 1am and it Also cool was that we got to see the island twice on one trip. It was weired seeing it without sailboats, chairs, life guard stands in snorkling area ect. Good luck to the island and all that are heading its way in the future. Eileen

Eileen....how was the ride from the port to the airport?? Were the roads busy or deserted. I guess Cocoa BEach area was pretty much deserted.

Thanks for posting and glad you had a good time...your cruise was probably the last one to see CC in good shape for awhile.

Well here's a partial quote from the FEMA website:

"Hurricane Frances Advisory Number 41

Statement as of 11:00 PM EDT on September 03, 2004

At 11 PM EDT...0300z...the center of Hurricane Frances was located
near latitude 26.1 north...longitude 77.8 west or about 70 miles
...110 km...east-southeast of Freeport Grand Bahama Island. This is
also about 150 miles east-southeast of West Palm Beach Florida."

So this would put it right next to CC.
