Castaway - Adults - Restaurant?

I saw something about adults have their own area on Castaway. And there's a restaurant with lobster. Do you know the name of this restaurant? Also when on Castaway and want to leave your kids with the Disney Cast, what do the kids do? Honestly I rather hangout with my kids at the beach and explore the island, but if I can get away for an hour to eat with my husband, that would be a great treat.

Any suggestions? Is it worth to leave the kids although of course the kids will have fun.

Serenity Bay is the location for adults - at the end of the island FAR from the family beach thank goodness. :) I don't recall the name of the food area there right now. But it's the only one there.

And just FWIW they don't ALWAYS have lobster. It usually depends on if the ship has had the menu with lobster yet and had any left. I haven't specifically looked (I don't eat anything that lives its life in the water), but I don't recall seeing it there on a 3-night Dream, 4-night Dream, or 7-night Eastern Fantasy.

I'm a solo adult and have only traveled with my parents and adult sister on Disney so I can't answer the kids' club questions. I'm pretty sure they have to be of kids' club ages and NOT nursery though.

As the whether lobster will be available, it varies. Sometimes they have it. All the times we've been there there's been no lobster.

Oceaneer's Club/Lab as well as the tween/teen activities are relocated to the island for the day. You can take your kids there, if you wish some time alone. They have activities in their specific areas. I do know the Oceaneer's (called Scuttles Cove, I believe) does not take your kids to the beach/water when they are there.

The kids club on the island is called Scuttles Cove and is for kids registered at Oceaneer Club and Oceaneer Lab (age 3-12). Nursery remains available onboard the ship. The tween and teens (Edge and Vibe) have their own activities on the island as well. Scuttles Cove will NOT involve swimming as it is not directly on the water. You can look at some Navigators to see what types of activities have been offered in the past.

Enjoy your cruise!

I'd love to see lobster at the Serenity BBQ! I don't think we've ever had it there. But will definitely check for it next time!

My kids love Scuttle's Cove. There is a splash pad area and a sand play area covered with canopies. I know they do a dinosaur bone dig because the kids wouldn't leave until after it was over. They also serve lunch so your kids could eat there while you and your hubby dine at Serenity Bay.

My kids loved the activity where they got to pour water over the counsellors. I have no idea what it was called, but they were all laughing their heads off when I went in to get them.

There's also a bubbles activity, my 3yo loved that one too. I have no idea what they did though.

Thank you again for the pictures and thank you for all the comments - they are great !

Lobster is generally on seven night cruises as castaway is the night after the semi formal night with lobster in dinning room. I think it depends on how much people order the night before. As others have said it's random if it's available.

I keep reading about lobster being on the island but I have never had the experience of having it served. We don't always go to Serenity Bay but I think we have been 8 times if my count is correct. Just haven't seen it.
Of course someone will join in who will have had it so it must have been an option at some point.
For anyone who has had it served (and actually eaten it, not just 'think I saw it') please let us know how long ago it was. It would be interesting to know.
TIA

I think your plan sounds great. Everyone set up base camp on the beach in the morning. Then they can grab some food and head to kids programming for 2 hours. You guys can go to Serenity BBQ and enjoy some adult quiet beach time, then you guys meet back up for a bike ride exploring the island. Return the bikes, hit Pelican plunge one more time while the adults visit the heads up bar before visiting the gift shops and catching the tram back to the ship. Sounds great, in fact take me too.

My kids spent their entire time on Castaway in Scuttle's Cove. I went to pick them up around 1pm to eat. They told me that they had already eaten and that they did not want to leave. I know they played in a splash pad area and they were making sand castles under canopies when it was time to go back to the ship. They made several crafts during their time there. One was some kind of necklace. They had a fantastic time and I was able to enjoy Serenity Bay!

I can't tell you how many times we have been to CC and never once saw lobster. I know there are sightings of it but don't get your hopes up!

Last year when we went with our 3 year old, we spent the first part of the day with her on the family beach making sand castles and splashing, had an early lunch together, then dropped her off at Scuttles Cove and went off for an off-shore snorkeling excursion, came back just as the island was being emptied out. She had a great time, we had a great time, she looked like the abominable sand monster. It was all good.

Never saw lobster the times we have been there. As bad as the steak is I can't imagine the lobster would be good either.

Serenity Bay BBQ is definitely a step up from the other buffets on CC, but we've never seen lobster either. It's a little thing, but I loved the condiments and sauces, especially the Raita and the Pico.

To receive lobster on SB you just need to flash your CL KTTW card.
I thought everyone knew this.
They prepare the lobster in a separate section of the grill of course.
