Kira's Countdown Calendar

------------------------

Ok, I just picked up the last part of her calendar so we are all ready!

So this is what I did.....

I made 35 little bags with my Cricut Expression (personal cutting machine http://www.cricut.com/information/whatiscricut.aspx) and added numbers 1-35 with Disney characters on them. Inside I put little trinkets and treats in each one as well as some shiny Mickey stickers (same as the ones I used on the luggage).

Then I made a blank calendar (generic so it can be used over and over for each Disney trip ;)) and I got it printed at Staples in poster size 18x24 and then had it laminated too. It was a little pricey $28 but that's why I made it so we can use it again! :thumbsup2

Each night after supper, she gets to open a bag and have the treats and then she takes the Mickey sticker and tries to match up the number that's on the bag with the number on the calendar.

A little bit of learning as well as some fun!:cool1:;)

She opened #35 last night but we didn't have the calendar so she stuck the Mickey on today. Tonight after supper she gets to do #34 :goodvibes

She absolutely LOVED the bags and all the little prezzies inside! She understands that she has to wait until after supper every night to open another one and since #34 is Mr. Incredible (her current fave movie!) she is VERY excited about tonight :lmao:

Ok, here's some pics :upsidedow

Pics of the bags before I put the stuff inside of them.....

I used Disney stickers, Princess tattoos, Disney rings, beads and stuff for her crafts....I also got some bouncy balls and princess lip balm and some Hershey kisses and Reese's Pieces (her fave!)

And that's it! :thumbsup2

The creation of the bags was a little time consuming but turned out great, was really cheap since I already have TONS of SB paper and already own a Cricut, which I barely use :rolleyes1 and she loves them, so it was all worth it. :lovestruc

I will take a pic of her putting on a Mickey Sticker tonight, to give you an idea of how big the calendar is :thumbsup2

Wow!!!!!! You are amazing. Those bags are great. I know every little girl would love them. Kira is so lucky to have you as her mom. Great Job. Enjoy. Diane

Cass the baby looked beautiful in her dresses.....:)

Thanks  You know though, eventually you're gonna have to stop calling her a baby cus she just might yell at you :rolleyes1 :lmao::rotfl2:

This is such a sweet post from AFEG that I just had to copy it and say that I agree 100%! :

Thanks Bendy  I hope she's on her best behaviour when you meet her :thumbsup2 ;)

or we may never meet up again lol!

What!?! Kira is old enough for playing dress up? No way! Time didn't just go by in a second, did it? Enjoy it now, Cass, because next is a bikini (with the body to go with it..)

She looks beautiful.princess:

I know! I joined the KK thread when she was about 3 inches tall

BIKINI??????? :scared1:

love the princess dress pics cass.
i hope that poor girl isnt going to be overwhelmed by all of us in oct.

addison just got a few of those dresses for her birthday. they plan on taking them to wdw in dec.:

She WILL be shy at first but I've been showing her everyone's pics so she's a little familiar with you crazy bunch :goodvibes

I still think you should make a surprise trip down to WDW in Dec ;)

Cass those are incredibly cute! As a new scrapbooker I have to say that had to be so much work. Not that I don't think she is worth it...I do... but how do you do all that you do everyday? I also did not think about little bags done on the Cricut.

It was a little bit of work but I did most of them while she did her crafts right next to me :goodvibes She kept looking over at me saying "You do my Disney bags mom?" :lmao:

Okay.........seriously...........can I move to your house? I leave for WDW in a week, so I'd only need 7 bags..... Do you think Kira would mind sharing???

Freakin' amazing Cass!!!!!

Sure! Come on over :woohoo: I can do 7 bags in an hour! :thumbsup2:goodvibes;)

A few pics of Kira and her calendar

---------------------------------

So she was very excited to open the Mr. Incredible bag last night :goodvibes She was also excited about finding her Hershey's Caramel Hug because she didn't eat all of her supper so she didn't get a treat afterwards but she got one in her bag :rolleyes1 :lmao:

She opened it immediately and then looked at it, looked at me and said "Have it????" which was funny because she knew was wasn't allowed dessert so she had to double-check with me to make sure she could actually eat it :rotfl2:

Then her face lit up when she found her Cinderella tattoo :goodvibes Her daddy put it on her right away and she's been looking at it ever since.

Oh, Wow, I absolutely LOVE your countdown bags!!! What and excellent idea. It gives me something to think about for our next countdown! Kira must be so excited knowing she'll get to open up a little Disney surprise every day. I LOVE IT!!! Great Job

Cass, we thought of you this morning while having breakfast. We had stopped at local French bakery yesterday (yes ... amazingly enough things like this exist in Stinktown) and due to limited choices picked up two chocolate croissants for this morning. I usually prefer traditional croissants but after eating this one I think I understand why you like them so much. They were wonderful and made me think of you. :goodvibes
