Cashed the change jar in ...

We leave Wednesday for WDW so we schleped the change jar to the bank. We've been saving since May 1 and our grand total was $293. I am happy with that total since we really have been on a spending freeze this last 6 weeks and haven't been spending as much, so less leftover change to contribute.

I started in June and only got to 100 dollars...I had to dip into the fund a few times...no job for part of the summer. Things are a lot better around here now (new job) and the kids recieved alomst 200 in Disney dollars (that is about 70 per kid) I am happy with that amnt for them for spending. The other 100 is for tips and occasional food treats not on the dining plan. We leave the same day as you!!! 7:00am flight to chicago then arrive at MCO around 1!!!!!!!! have fun...

We only had about 30.00....but then again this year we've not been pushing it nearly as much as we used to. I think last year we got around 100.00 maybe in 9 months of saving.

My girls and I have been saving for a few weeks now and will take our change to Coinstar and it will count it for us and give us a build a bear gift card. We will use it in DTD in a a week! My husband did not want to spend the money at BAB so we saved up and we can go now!

Just wanted to add my own little tip about change....
Every week when I cash a check (I happen to work at a bank) I buy a roll of quarters and put it into my coin jar along with the coin I save when I spend cash. That garuntees you at least $520.00 in a year. It also helps that my husband details cars at a car dealership for a living. You'ld be surprised how much change he finds in cars that have been traded in----once or twice he's found almost $20.00 in change in one car.
