Cash ressie & mousekeeping question

Hello all,

I'm getting ready to return "home" once again in a few weeks but this time I've also reserved a studio for my brother and his family. My question is this, part of the reservation was for cash and a couple of nights using points (my first time doing this). Has anyone done this? When the cash reservation begins do they get mousekeeping every day or does it stay with the usually trash and towel service? My next question is this, MS said I don't have to pay the balance (cash payment) until I get down there. I'm use to having every thing paid for 30 days in advance so this threw me for a loop. Now I would never imply that our lovely CM's are misinformed but is this correct? I keep having vision in my head of my family getting down there and finding out the reservation was cancelled because of non-payment, or am I having flashbacks to the cro system.

Cash ressies through MS are handled differently than cash ressies through Disney's CRO. MS has no way to accept pre-payments, so that is correct, you pay when you check-in. Cash ressies through MS are treated like point ressies, the ressies are linked and the housekeeping schedule will continue on the DVC cycle, not daily as a ressie through CRO.

Just as an example, I did a cash reservation through member services on Friday & Saturday, then points Sunday to Thursday nights. We had our trash & towel on Monday, day 4 of the linked reservation.

Unless the policy has changed the 25% member discount is only good IF the MEMBER is staying in the unit. With 2 units, one should not qualify for the member discount, and if you are not getting the discount, you should get full mousekeeping service for those days.

The member could register in the cash discount room and the guest in the points room.
