Cash reservation ????

There is a group of us going in June. We have our DVC reservations, but others want to stay there on cash. Can I make these reservations???? Can they get a better deal at CRO? We would like to be close in proximity to each other, how do I request that? Thanks in advance for the help I know will be forthcoming!!!!!!!!!!!

How about they rent points? It would probably work out cheaper. When the reservations were made I would think a request could be made to link it to your reservation.

I also think that renting points is the way to go, assuming that there is availability. If not, your best option will be to book through CRO.

MS generally only makes cash reservations at DVC resorts if there is sufficient inventory available to offer the 25% Member Discount. (I believe the member has to be actually staying in the room to get this discount). Lately, these discounts have been reported to be few and far between. They are generally offered only if:

* it has been determined that the members' point inventory will not be all used by members (tough to determine much before 60 days ahead of arrival)

* the developer has inventory that is available for cash rental and isn't likley to be all used (very tough when the resort is sold out).

Again, if you can't/don't want to rent points, I think the best bet is to rent through CRO for the best deal you can get. Then ask CRO to note the request to be assigned near DVC resssie XXX (whatever your confirmation number is). Call MS and ask that your ressie have the same note, but with the CRO reservation number.

To get a DVC cash discount (25%) you would have to be staying in the room and that discount is subject to availability. CRO doesn't have discounts out for June yet. Renting points is a good idea. Which resort are you looking for?
