I have a reservation for five nights preferred view 1-BR at BWV for November. I also have a discounted cash reservation for the first two weekend nights through MS. MS advised that the reservation would be linked and we would not have to move out and check back in.

Today I checked the Annual Passholder rates for my time period and might be able to save about $30/night if I switch the cash portion of the reservation to the passholder rate through CRO. My question is, "will the reservation still be linked?, or will I have to check-in, check-out?

We did the same thing a couple of years ago. The procedure may have changed since then, but this is what we had to do:

Make the cash nights reservation through CRO. Then call MS with your reservation confirmation number and ask that they link the two reservations. You should not have to move if everything is done properly.

I'd call MS a couple of weeks prior to your arrival to confirm the link is still in place. We arrived at OKW one time and there was no record of the linkage. It was taken care of on the spot, but I'd feel more comfortable knowing it was in place prior to arrival.

I ran into this in May. I could have got an AP rate $20 less per night for 2 nights at OKW. Member Services said they could not be linked and they would not guarantee we would not have to move. I just left it rather than risk a hassle with it. With the member discount, the reservations were linked, we did not have to check out/ check back in.

With BWV, it could be more difficult. I believe all CRO cash reservations are classified as standard view, they don't make a distinction between standard and preferred. I would discuss it with member services, maybe you'll get a better answer than I did (the cm didn't seem too cooperative about it when I called).
