I am debating whether to take cash or credit to the parks? Do the snack stands take credit cards or just cash? Can you bill things to your room? Thanks!

I'm pretty sure they take credit cards, and you can bill things to your room

You can use your KTTW card at most places. I always take some cash with me for small purchases.

Maybe you get a Disney gift card. You can put as much as you want to on the card, and you can use it for food and purchases.

If you attach a debit/credit card to your room, you can charge to your room. Depending on your category of hotel you have certain "limits" before you have to pay your bill and can start over ($500 for value, $1000 for moderate, $1500 for deluxe). Most snack carts take cards but it's always good to have a couple of dollars with you just in case (sometimes the machines act up).

Just get charging priviledges added to your room/ticket card and you won't have to worry about carrying cash.

Definitely hook up a card to your KTTW. I'm not crazy about using credit cards, especially when I'm on vacation, but it really is the best/easiest thing you can do at WDW. But like a pp mentioned, make sure to have a little bit of cash on hand for those stands that can't take charge.

:thumbsup2 Hi,
Just use your Key To The Workd card (room key), than you will not have to carry cash or other credit cards that might get lost...
have a great trip..
gg

We put the bulk of the cash on our room credit when we check in. Then just use the KTTW card, keeping some cash on hand. We have also just used our Disney Visa card to rack up points then just pay it when we get home.

we are sooo happy we didn't put charging privlidges on our key card. The wait staff in the hotels are sooo pushy for the TIp. If you say cash they leave you alone and run to the table after you leave.

Also 2 times at a counter service meal they tried to charge the card for the meals not take off the meal plan meals! We would have had 2 charges that were wrong!

It was easier to pay cash!! then you know what you have bought, and know that the charge was correct.

Hmmm I never had anyone ask if I was paying cash or room card, they ask if we are on a dining plan. And for the meals, all you would have had to do was noticed the error before you left, and had them removed. Where they dont charge your 'real' credit card, there would have been no wrong charges ever show up on your credit card.

Also, as someone else stated, you can also put cash on your KTTW card. Now, some folks that work the check in desks dont like to deal with cash if possible, or just dont want to take the time to apply it, but it can be done. I tried to do it at CSR and was told it couldnt be done. So here I am walking around with about a grand for all our stuff for the week, and daily I'd go and pay off the KTTW card, one of the managers saw my cash, and quietly suggested that I could put it on the card. I told them I was told I couldnt, and they said you have to be firm about it, and MAKE anyone who doesnt want to deal with it, do it anyway.

My sister had 4 unauthorized charges to her Card in January and it still not settled nor the charges revered and its april! better safe than sorry for me!

I put cash on my KTTW card also and I had my debit card with me at the parks. I didn't carry any cash and there were a couple of stand that didn't take anything BUT cash that I remember, but it wasn't that big of a deal. We just didn't buy from there and found something else. It is probably a good idea to have a few dollars on you if at all possible, but I'm with charging it on the KTTW card.

Because of things like this...you HAVE to check your statement BEFORE you actually leave and save all your receipts. They will fix the charges immediately if you are still there but I've heard lots of horror stories about it taking forever after you leave. Also, if you are leaving a cash tip (and using DDP), write CASH on the tip spot so servers can not write their own tips in. We learned this the hard way. We left a server a cash tip (and this is back when tips were INCLUDED in the DDP but we always leave extra). Apparently the cash we left and the 18% that was included wasn't enough for this server. She wrote in an additional tip on the receipt and were were charged it. If you are leaving cash, do not leave the tip line blank.

MOST of the snack stands take credit cards. I would take maybe 5 or 10 dollars to the park in cash. Its so much easier to write one check and have an itemized list of what you spent.

As well because I had a canadian Credit card I would have been charged a 2.5% conversaion rate..almost all canadian credit card companies charge this! I would have ended up pays that extra percentage on top of it as well.

Snacks places do take credit cards. We use are debit card with its own check registar. We start with how much we spend at WDW and work our we down. Also, we have to bring the checkbook on the trip and worry about lossing it.
