cash only when getting counter service?

It's been a looong time since I've been to WDW and I can't remember if we could use debit/credit cards at counter service places/snack carts..:confused
Can debit/credit cards be used at sit down restaurants in the parks?

I just need clarification so we have enough $ if that's all we can use.

You can charge back to your room (sorry, I don't know if you are staying onsite) at all CS and a lot of snack carts.

I also think you can credit/debit card most CS restaurants.

I am 90% sure that you can use credit just about everywhere. DF says it's everywhere but the people who have the moving carts, for glow sticks and such (which makes sense).

If you want to save in advance, you can buy gift cards (I bought ours on the Disneyland website as they had a lot of nice choices) which work at the table service, counter service and most of the snack carts as well as the gift shops. I bought a number of them and left the ones that we were not using in the room safe just in case we lost one, we didn't lose all of our vacation money. The receipt you get back tells you how much is left on the gift card too so you can keep easily keep track. I bought different designs for my husband and myself so he couldn't switch cards since he tends to spend more than I do . It was nice to have these paid for in advance and know how much spending money we had for food and souvies.

I was hoping to use my Disney rewards card for most of our food. How will that work at a counter service restaurant?

I was wondering the same thing.... I have about $360-400 in disney gift cards and disney rewards cards. we are planning on using them pretty much on food. I believe we can use them at "most" snack carts. From what I've heard there are a few that will not take them. But they should be accepted at disney counter and table service restaurants....

Most of the places take your Visa Reward card but if not you can charge back to your room if you are inside the park. If not you can use your rewards card to buy Disney dollars to use.
