Cash and Point reservations ?'s

Hey Gang

I'm trying to save points to add a vacation later .I just got off the phone with MS and I had booked a 2 bedroom standard view ressie on points and changed the last night to cash ( Friday ) next August . MS says that it only books preferred view on cash until 60 days before the ressie at which point it may or may not change to standard

I'd like to say too I have a cash ressie on our first night in January 1 bedroom without discount and the 2 bedroom cash night is with a discount so the difference in paying cash 1 and 2 bedroom is $21.00 more and 27 points back to me ( if kept this way ) I'd like to do one or the other of these but I'm not sure which?

Does anyone have any experience with having it go from preferred to standard at 60 days out ?

I'm thinking we'll be "stuck" with a cash preferred room

I'd rather not change rooms ,and especially not move from a 2 bedroom for one night.
