Kevin and I were lucky enough to spend Easter Weekend in Disney and we put out to our fellow DISers the opportunity to pick some places where we would eat and then do reviews.

PoohHappens requested that we do an dining review of Casey's Corner, which we gladly did, since I am a HUGE corndog fan.

We ate at Casey's as a late evening snack, as we were in the Magic Kingdom for EMH on Friday evening (the park was open till 3am :faint: , although Casey's was closing at 1:30a)

Here was our view at 12:30am as we were entering this fine dining establishment

Casey himself welcomed us as we entered his restaurant.

After reviewing our options for the evening we decided to nosh on Corndog Bites, an Order of French Fries and a Large Diet Coke.

We picked up our order and headed out to find that a lovely table was avaialble with an unobstructed view of Cinderella Castle!

I was teased unmercifully one year that "Casey" was my boyfriend.

During the parade, I had absolutely nowhere to stand but right on top of Casey. I enjoyed the pic, it brought back a laugh for me. :teeth:

For our snack, as I said we had.....Corndog Bites, an Order of French Fries and a Large Diet Coke.

We picked up a side of ketchup and liquid cheese (hey, it was free, so we thought we'd splurge!)

The corn dogs were very tastey and very reasonably priced at $3.59 for 6 or 8 of them (I forgot to count). I love corndogs and these were right up there. Although it is not mentioned anywhere, I surmise that they are the all beef variety. Dipping them in the liquid cheese just added to the overall taste.

The french fries ($1.89).....well....where do I start......by the time we got them and got to our wonderful table with a view of Cinderella Castle, they were limp and stone cold! Once past that LITTLE issue, we finished them off in no time. I gotta admit, those little buggers, even COLD and limp were DELICIOUS! I can picture myself snarfing down several servings of these if they were warm and crispy. I am guessing that the reason they tasted so good, even cold has to do with the type of oil that the potatoes are fried in.

That's an amazing view and pic of the castle. I can't wait to hear your other reviews as your reputation precedes you.

Have to admit, I am a corndog fanatic, so without a doubt, I'd do Casey's Corner again for a snack. I would certainly try and do it when they are busier (as opposed to 12:30a) as this would hopefully ensure that the french fries would be warm and crispy.

After we finished off our little snack, we decided to go across the street for some ice cream at the Main Street Ice Cream Parlor.

we *love* casey's... it's a must-do for our family... even if we're not "hungry" and split a hot dog (w/the requisite liquid cheese, of course!)... given that i prefer "softer" fries (as opposed to real crispy ones) casey's fries are the ones by which i judge all others! especially cold! mmmm mmmm :)

thanks for sharing your review :flower:

Kevin and I decided to finish off the evening with ice cream!

I love butterpecan icecream, so I ordered a single scoop (which actually is 2 scoops). It was not frozen hard solid (I hate icecream that is so hard it breaks your teeth.....) and was nice and creamy with large chunks of pecans inside......

Kevin, who is allergic to pecans, settled on Cookies and Cream Ice Cream. He didn't say a word as he wolfed down his cone in record time, so I am let to assume he liked it! Yes, Kevin likes it, yes, he likes it!

I hope I can live up to your expectations. The other reviews with fine dining, will be a bit more involved than this.

I SOO love crispy fries....almost burnt is OK....

When we go to McDonald's I always pick through everyone's fries and grab all the crispy little tidbits at the bottom of the containers.

We love Casey's also. Great idea for a evening snack!
I am so holding my breath for the rest of your reviews! :worship:

Also, I forgot....from the nose blowing thread (which is a hilarious MUST read), which can be found here:

:rotfl: :rotfl: and Mr Disney could you give me your list of disney non-excuseable rest. just in case i am ever there when you are so i can avoid them :rotfl: :rotfl: however your honesty is appreciated :)

jann1033, this would be a non-excuseable dining experience. Yes boys and girls, Mr Disney would blow his nose at the table at Casey's Corner, but never at the Service Counter!

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

My DS  "fine" dining so this will be right up his alley. After all our trips to the MK this is one establishment that we have never stepped a toe into.

As corn dog bites are among his favorite foods I know that we will be stopping here on this trip.

Thank you for the review. Do you recommend an ADR :rotfl2:

I think it's cool that you're reviewing the less famous dining establishments at Disney. After all, when you're on the DP, you get a CS meal every day. Also, I'm eating at Akershus in May, so I hope to see your review of that establishment before I leave for WDW a week from Saturday.

Your pictures are always so clear! What Camera do you use? I feel Casey's Corner is underapreciated at WDW. The food while obviously not fancy is tasty and filling. Would I like most is the atmosphere, you have your choice of eating on the mini-bleachers and watching old -time cartoons; or you can go outside and sit at tables and watch the people go up and down main Street, or better yet look at the castle. I think Casey's Corner is 1 of WDW's hidden gems!

Thanks for the first review...I have two corn dog loving kids in my family...I think Caseys will HAVE to be a stop for us (and even like "good" corndogs, I just don't seem to have an appreciation for those found in your local grocer's freezer).

Thanks and keep the reviews coming!

I use a 4 meg Canon Elph Camera. Its a great little camera and was under $200 when I got it several years ago.

My ice cream cone photos are a little blurry this time, because I forgot to use the close up feature it offers. Normally when I am doing the food reviews, I use the close up feature (a manual setting) which can get you really close to the photo and SUPER clarity.

Nuggets with cheese and catsup (gasp.) Corndog blasphemy. Corndogs should always be eaten on a stick with mustard. It's like eating lamb well done if you don't.
