One thing I am taking away from this trial is that criminal defense attorneys are kinda skeezy and really stick together.

I hope I don't make any enemies when I say this but I think this can be said of BOTH sides. I don't believe for one minute that the state wouldn't make some sleazy moves to win a case. FTR, I do love Jeff Ashton but I still think he will do whatever he can get away with to win.

I also think those on the side of the state stick together. When Yuri testified that he didn't think of Casey as a suspect, he was lying through his teeth. A seasoned detective finds out that a mom waits 31 days to report her missing child and then finds out that she lied about her job and the nanny yet he testifies on the stand that he didn't think she was a suspect? Bull!

I don't think it'll be "officially" unsealed, but info is starting to leak out already. Did anyone hear it had to do with Baez telling Geraldo details about the case and that Judge Perry is going over all that to see if some action needs to be taken??

I don't think so. I couldn't sleep last night and was reading a lot on WS. This is kind of what I took from all that. I think Cheney Mason wants out.

First, he made the mistake when he was questioning CA, allowing the State to talk about the check (or CC) fraud. I just don't think his heart is in this. So, I'm sure he took some heat for that.

Second, I learned that if the DT (defense team) doesn't bring up any evidence of the abuse, they can't talk about it in their closing argument. It was a stupid thing for them to come with that wacky opening statement when they didn't have any evidence to back it up. I'm sure CM knew this.

If you look at the video from yesterday. . .CM puts his head down and rubs his face, like he is really frustrated, during JB getting into it with the State and basically calling HHBP biased. I think CM had had enough at that point. He calls the sidebar and says it's not related to the matter at hand. He also calls off the court reporter. . .he does not want whatever he said to be on record. Next the DT meets with ICA. From what I understood from lawyers on WB, he can not take himself off the case now that they are in trial. The only way for him to be dismissed is for ICA to fire him basically. I think that is why people said they heard him shouting during this time. I can believe that he does not want to be tied to JB in any way. . .CM has a good reputation and doesn't want to lose that due to JB and his crappy law practice.

The only reason for HHBP to call the DT into his chambers without the State is something internal withing the DT or some issue directly related to ICA. Any other reason, plea, misconduct, etc, the State would be their too. It would also explain why that meeting was sealed. I imagine that ICA must give a reason to dismiss CM.

One more thing. . .absolutely the DT was expecting Lee to say that his parents suspected that he was Caylee's father. JB asked like 3 times, "Is there anything else you want to tell me?" When LA didn't drop that bombshell and provide the evidence they needed, it really threw a wrench in the defense. Does anyone remember that CA wasn't ready to take the stand because she was in the bathroom? I bet she left at some point during Lee's testimony because she was PO'd!!!! That's why there was not any acknowledgment between them, why he ate alone, etc. He just couldn't admit to something that most likely isn't true.

This is total speculation on my part. . .BUT does anybody think that maybe CA found something at sometime and confronted ICA about it. . .and that's when ICA brought up the alleged abuse? CA seems pretty nosy and ICA was obviously a promiscuous wh*re! So CA find some birth control pills, condoms, maybe a Planned Parenthood pamphlet and ICA lies like she always does to cover her self and says she's a "good girl" and it's because GA and/or LA are messing with her. I think that is totally believable.

Back to CM. I think the DT thinks they have to put ICA on the stand now. . .and being the bozo that JB is he thinks that he has to do that. CM knows that that is baaaaaad news. . .another reason he wants out. I believe that CM is totally anti DP and want ICA to get a fair trial and to not get that. . ..but he knows at this point that the DT is going down. They are actually making the situation worse!

I think maybe that CM pointed out another violation that Baez had made. Maybe he wants to get Baez thrown off the case so he can take over and give Casey what he thinks is a fair trial.

The preschool that I work at during the school year is having summer camp this coming week. I am working it but I don't want to now. I am not going to be able to watch tv until 2:00 everyday. At least I won't be working during verdict watch.

You have to forgive me because I'm not up on the case as well as many of you but I have not seen , read or heard one thing that indictes either GA or LA abused Casey. Prior sex Abuse is a common DT tactic to try and garner sympathy. I think people aren't going to fall for it unless there is evidence. Wasn't there DNA testing that excluded GA and LA as being Caylee's father??

But the most basic thing that doesn't ring true is the drowning in a pool excuse. If you ever have been unfortunate enough to exprience a child who drown they don't hide the bodies. The reaction is to scream for 911 to get help. I've known of Mothers running down the street carrying their dead child screaming for help. Casey's dad was a homicide detective in Ohio he would know that no one would get in trouble that it would be classified (99%) of the time as a tragic accident.

I leave for vacation Wed AM 6/29/11. I will have my iPhone.
I will be home late Tues PM 7/5/11.

If they go into deliberation at end of Friday as thought, could they possibly return a verdict over the holiday weekend? And if they do, will court be in session to hear it over the holiday weekend no matter what day it is? Sat, Sun or even Mon the 4th of July holiday?

Or will they wait till Tues?

I can't buy the abuse at all but I could buy a 22 y/o finding her toddler dead in the pool, panicking, and creating a fake kidnapping scenario to cover it up. Once they threw in the idea that George was the one to find the body, I knew Casey was still lying. While a 22 y/o might panic over her dead child, a former police detective would have called 9-11 and I just don't see a man like GA dumping his precious granddaughter that he cherished in the woods for animals to feed off of. I assume the defense is presenting this story because it is what Casey told them. I would be shocked it they really believed it all.
