Casey Anthony Trial Thread #3

hi guys.

well - no contractions yet but most of the water/fluid is gone.

someone turned the tap to low LOL

it's now up to Nicole on when she wants to come out --

anyone wanna place your bets as to date and time

I thought the baby had to be delivered within 24 hours after your water broke. I know I had to have a c-section because time was running out. Has this changed?

I had to have pitocin to help things along. But they gave me an epidural at the same time. :)

Still thinking about you! :goodvibes

Can't speak for Kurby in canada, but US standard tends to be 24 hours for hospital deliveries. Some other countries have a 48 hour standard. My friend was a midwife in a hospital in Wales. Midwives are standard as is the 48 hour window for delivery after water breaking.

Sending many good thoughts and best of luck for Kurby and Nicole.

OK. I'm still pretending to be a juror (because I don't know the history and come with no preconceived ideas about the Anthonys) so here my thoughts for today -- skipping marginal witnesses:

I now officially don't like Cindy Anthony. She will say and do anything to get Casey off the Death Penalty. I also don't like the fact that she seemed to regard Caylee as her own child (I wouldn't allow ... I didn't like those shorts ... I was in charge). I'm beginning to think that Casey never attached to Caylee because Cindy got in the way. Not that this excuses murder, or aggravated child neglect, by any means but it actually bolsters my belief that Casey "could" have murdered the child she felt no maternal attachment too. Not what the Defence intended, I'm sure. Cindy should also not get snippy with Baez. She is coming over as mean.

Lee came over as rather pathetic, very anti-prosecution, and I fail to see how his testimony for today did anything for the defense. So, he said that he was told to butt out when he suspected Casey was PG, his feelings were hurt because he felt excluded, and he wasn't invited to the birth or baby shower. Boo Hoo! I wonder how many brothers would want to be that involved, but I don't think this makes him a molester of his sister either. The prosecution did a good job of impeaching him on the stand over the contradictions with his deposition. IMO, I can't take his testimony seriously -- he also just wants to save his sister, although he "may" actually be genuinely grieving for Caylee. He just told me that the whole family lies.

Yuri Melich has a wonderful presence and is unshakable on the stand. I like and believe this guy. He is a good detective dealing with a really difficult case.

Oh, Cheney Mason! Weren't the defense trying to keep Casey's record of stealing and felony convictions out of this? Didn't you and Baez make objections during the prosecution case about this? Why open the door now? The jurors know she is a thief (you guys admitted that in the opening statement) now the prosecution can bring out all the dirty laundry and felonies.:rotfl:

The defense will have to do a lot better to get "reasonable doubt." I look forward to them bringing the meter reader with a weak bladder to the stand to convince me that he hoards corpses. Also the proof that Casey was sexually abused. Remember that, Mr Baez!

I still adore Judge Perry. I think he is very good at his job and will guide thyis trial to a good conclusion.

the dr said 50% have the baby within 24 hours of water breaking
25% will deliver within 7 days and 25% whenever

no eppi for me - didn't have one for Cassie - would like not to have one with Nicole but i won't rule it out and be so firm to kill myself with pain. HOWEVER babies come faster the more you have so since i was in active labour with Cassandra for only 2.5 hours i expect to spit Nicole out AND be back in time for Nancy Grace LOL jk

i won't be leaving until she's born and they gave be meds for infection because my water broke in case i don't deliver within 24 hours.

now i just have to talke Nicole into coming out and play nice when she does. no killing or tearing the crap out of mummy oooooookayyyyyy Nicole. be nice to mummy i've been through a lot already.

In US hospitals, 24 hours is the standard. However if you have an out-of-hospital midwife, she may have her own standard. I've known women to have a few days or a week after their water breaking to go into labor. Never been an issue for me, though, as my water usually breaks well into labor.

And I predict Nicole will make her entrance at 11:47pm (June 24)!

Wow!! I was in labor with Judah for 2 1/2 hours (pre-labor for weeks though). I wish you another precipitous birth! I didn't have labor drugs, either, but I hear contractions are worse with pit, so be careful. I'm sure you have your own methods to work through the pain. For me, I had to move a lot, change position, and focus - no distractions, no talking, no music, no nothing!

Well, if that's the case you better hurry up, you only have a couple of hours :thumbsup2

I can't believe you guys at 2 hours, 2 and a half hours...

with child number 1, I was on bedrest for 7 weeks and then had 54 hours of active labor, then a c section.... # 2 went South quicker so 10 hours before the C Section, after that they figured out why I couldn't really have kids, well at least I got the 2 I say! They're the best.

Yeah--That was why I said hospital deliveries ;).

My doula always said to not be so quick and precise on the water breakage times.:rolleyes1 (was told to me in friend capacity though ;))

I missed most of the trial today. Being teens, you would think my kids would be more self sufficient by now but I had to haul them all over town today. Sheesh! You guys provided such a great synopsis that I am not sure I will even watch what I have recorded.

Best of luck, Kurby!!

If she wasn't getting prenatal care, how does anyone know she was really due in September? Sounds like typical Casey - "My baby is a preemie, look at me, pay attention to me and my preemie baby." What was Caylee's birth weight? My friend had a 7 lb baby at 36 weeks (not induced), so obviously her dates were a little skewed.

Based on my expert observation as an ob/gyn, (well, I HAVE been going to them for years...) I estimate Caylee was 35 minutes premature, but why get technical?

FYI, I have testified in the past for Jose and he's had me certified as an expert in anthropology, psychology, psychiatry, sociology, criminology, biology, zoology, archaeology, and a whole mess of other ologies. I mean, heck, I've read at least one book on each of those subjects, and Jose assured me that was good enough. He could have saved a lot of money if he had hired me as a multipurpose witness in this case!

:rotfl2::rotfl::lmao:

hahaha - i haven't even started contractions and you have me pushing Nicole out in the next 3 hours LOL thanks. :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

ya - i've heard of pit and i'm SO NOT requesting or taking it. she's sooooooo early that even if i don't go tonight - she'll be her in a day or so

i had 5 or 6 baths when i delivered Cassie and kept my eyes closed almost the entire time. no talking except to tell dh to shut up LOL and to tell my midwife that yes i can hear you no i'm not opening up my eyes.

i laboured at home and she came so fast we called 911 and 20 minutes after we made it into the room my midwife put her in my arms and she started nursing.

NOTE TO NICOLE - follow in your sisters footsteps (as far as birth is concerned if you please)

:lmao: That's hilarious. :teeth:

Why are they making such a big deal on these HLN "news" shows about Lee not going to the hospital to see his new niece? Was she in for any length of time, or the standard two days? I just don't see as that much of a big deal. :confused3

HLN spends over 8 hours a day covering this story. They are doing whatever they can to stretch the testimonies!

This is the Kurby and Nicole delivery predictions post. I'll edit as necessary and put a link in the first post. LMAO (That first post has become like another child to me! :lmao:)
