Casey Anthony Trial Thread #3

Good questions by Baez--But is he now redirecting his way making his pig evidence unusable--since environmental conditions in a Colorado autumn are different and all.

Are yOu kidding me????

Baez is attempting to discredit a hair sample study that took place in winter in Tennessee since conditions are VERY different than Florida in summer. Vey different environmental conditions.

Why did he not consider that for his Colorado pig study evidence that he submitted??????

That's why the pig needed a blanket!

I'm going to agree with this, but what about the supposed text message from George to the Holloway woman? I'm not saying that proves an affair, but it is interesting.

In response to the Anthony's statement regarding Casey's not being innocent, it just is heartbreaking. At the time all this started, I didn't like George or Cindy at all. Being on the outside, it was so easy to see what had happened, and at the time I couldn't understand how they didn't see it. Looking at it now as a mother (and soon old enough to be a grandmother), it is terribly, terribly sad. Caylee, George, and Cindy are truly the victims here.

If Cindy goes on the stand today, Baez better tread very, very lightly. He has made a donkey's behind out of himself numerous times. There may very well be lynch mob after him if he "beats up" on Cindy. She is a broken and exhausted mother and grandmother. :sad2:
Do we know what the text message says?

Whoever would have thought, back when this all started, with the videos of George and Cindy confronting the public, and especially the videos of them giving depositions in the Zenaida issue, that we would come to understand and embrace and sympathize with them so much.

He watched Ashton and said "Wow, he's good! I'm going to try that!!"

Baez: "went you want to know...?"

Witness: "not necessarily"
:lmao:

Not really sure what Jose is getting at except to cut down this guy's scientific methods.
"shouldn't you, wouldn't you..."

Ashton re-cross should be good.

Two suStained objects from Aston...but I think Judge sustained the second one before Ashton even finished objecting.:lmao:

15 minute "special" recess.

Can somebody remind me what the importance of the hair banding was? I totally forgot about it until today when Baez brought the guy back... I don't think that went the way he wanted it to... Ashton does an amazing job....

If you believe it can only come from a dead body then it proves a dead Caylee was in Casey's trunk.

Holy cow!!!!!

Ch 6 explaining what happened...

This slide presentation got to defense late and was not allowed to be used in court.

Then Jose, used a slide from an experiment to force the post mortem band on a hair from a live person. BY ITSELF, it can and was mistaken as a hair from a cadaver. So Jose seemed to gain ground. But hair was not in trunk or something?

On cross examination---Ashton was permitted to show the rest of the color slide presentation which showed other hairs from dead and live people. The band could NOT be replicated and when the above hair is compared to a dead person's hair, it is extremely obvious that the above hair was NOt post mortem banding on a hair plucked from a live person. (banding too long and too close to the root).

I would think this is a major faux pas by Baez.

It seems he likes to take evidence OUT of context and show that his client is not guilty. But in context, it paints the opposite picture.

He tried to show that the hair found could have been a live hair exposed to conditions that miscolored, but the slide presentation made it clear that there is no mistake tag the hair did come from a deceased person and was not a miscolored hair like Jose tried to show.

(hope I got that right)

Another "Do you think" question:

Do you think that as Baez got closer to trial, he knew there was probably only a slim chance she would not be found guilty? So, to save his butt, he makes it to where Casey is going to have to testify or else her goose is cooked, i.e. the opening statements. That way if he doesn't win the case, it is Casey's fault. Either she doesn't take the stand and he blames her for making the accusations without backing them up or she does take the stand, Ashton rips her to shreds and Baez blames her for not being credible. In his mind, he wins either way because like Casey, nothing is ever his fault.

I believe I saw the text from Vinnie Politan's show yesterday. It said something to the effect of "I miss you. I need you in my life." Above the text it said George, but then you never know what all that means. It was only text that I saw. :confused3

I know, I never thought at the beginning of all this I would ever feel sympathy for Cindy and George, but I do.
