Did anyone else watching the exchange between the medical examiner Utz and folksy good ol' boy Mason feel like they were getting together for dinner tonight? I mean, right out of the gate, there was that obnoxious little joke by Mason about him being glad Utz wasn't there for him, or something equally as obnoxious. I mean, I understand an occasional need for levity in the courtroom, but right before talking about this little girl's remains??? When Linda Drane Burdick had to help Mason work the equipment, and she said something about "I don't work for you"...THAT was a light moment. But Mason making a "funny" with the medical examiner...not so much. JMHO

Didn't they also say the tape was covering her mouth and nose? I can't remember if I heard that during the court hearing today or during the breaks.
I will never believe it was an accident.

For those that think Casey drugged Caylee and put her in the trunk to keep her out of the way temporarily so she could spend time with Tony/friends...

It was JUNE in FLORIDA. I've been to Florida in March, April and May, and it can be VERY hot. I just can't believe that Casey would think that she could keep a child for ANY length of time in the trunk of a car and not put her in serious danger.

Good point as well. See...that's what drives me crazy about this whole thing - we'll never know what really happened.

GA and RK are supposed to save the day for KC. As well has whatever other bombshell story JB has for the jury.

KC might not have tucked her in the trunk until after the fatal event occurred. I would not think she would plan a trunk nap.

It was 75 degrees outside on that night. Clear with a nice breeze though on the muggy side. She probably didn't put much stock into the trunk temperature

I'm not a trunk or temperature expert, but I'm guessing that if you open up a trunk that's been in the Florida heat all day, it's going to be a bit stuffy in there...a stuffiness that might hit you when you open it. I'm in RI, and when it starts to get warm, there are reminders on the news about not keeping your dog in the car without air. I just can't buy any theory that Casey put Caylee in the trunk "temporarily". But then, I think she purposely murdered her, no accident involved. And I think that duct tape was placed on her mouth for the sole purpose of killing her.

Yes I saw someone commenting on the media that those two "had a history together" so I took that to mean on other cases or something work related they were familiar with each other.

I just can't figure out how he can help the defense. Creepy, nut job? Yep! Killed Caylee and moved her body? Nope - not possible. Baez already told us that Caylee drowned in the pool accidentally. The experts have already told us that the skull had been there for awhile since plants had grown through it.

Maybe Baez will say that George actually sexually abused Kronk and to retaliate, Kronk killed Caylee. It turns out Casey had nothing whatsoever to do with any of this!

I agree. Seriously, if you read a novel with a character named "Roy Kronk" and your awesome description, there'd be readers saying " Give me a break."

Still catching up on shows, and Casey Jordan is on...just love her! She says in her commentator voice..."I will give kudos to the defense. They put Cheney Mason up at a time when it was really his time to be up, because we do believe that at times Jose Baez can be annoying..."

Do you think they'll take the jury to the Anthony house/neighborhood, and to the place where Caylee was found? I know they do that in some cases. It really gives a different perspective to actually see it, but I think they might just have to go with pictures and descriptions and mileage because it would be a huge media circus. I bet the neighbors would object...they probably want this to all go away.

ok, for those asking about the duct tape. Just went and checked Websleuths. There are 3 pieces of tape measuring 9.75", 7.5" and 8.75". The pictures they showed today made the tape look like it was in a circular shape and could have been wrapped around the head. I think its that the pieces were long enough that almost met up in the back. Those pieces are long for a baby like Caylee. That's just awful and chilling.

Lawyer Mark Nejame was on Dr Drew tonight and actually had some good words to say about Roy Kronk. In essence he was saying that by Kronk calling 911 and not Crimeline, Kronk was not eligible for the large reward. Nejame felt bad for him, and said he had $5000 that he could give him, but wouldn't give it to him unless he checked him out. He did and found he was A OK. I will watch for the transcript to show up on CNN and will post it so you can read his remarks, pretty interesting.

Roy Kronk has a bit of a past. His ex-wife has accused him of abuse. He is estranged from his children. His ex made a big deal about it on the local news that he is crazy about duct tape.

Now, I don't know that any of this has anything to do with the case, but I can see why the defense doesn't want him to open up things that could prove difficult.

It will be interesting to see how they spin the fact that he supposedly found the body weeks before and, for some reason, LE couldn't seem to see it when he directed them to it. His son has claimed that he called to brag about finding the body some time prior to LE responding to it.

The whole thing is just really weird. I don't know that Kronk played a part in the crime, but I wouldn't want him hanging around my neighborhood. Creepy!

I've never understood the theory Kronk hid the body & brought it back later for the reward - what did he have to gain? The reward was the same whether he claimed it after the 1st call or 3rd. Truthfully, after viewing these photos, I can see how it could be overlooked in this summer FL vegetation (especially after a hurricane and flooding).

Sorry, I have to disagree. I've lived in FL less years than the Anthonys and 75 deg. in FL at night in June usually means the daily highs are in the 90's. That kind of heat in a closed area (trunk) builds up all day. Heck, we keep an insulated chest in our trunks for frozen stuff when we grocery shop a few miles away.

And as some of you have brought up the FL temps in June, yeah, I guess I'm going to need to bring myself to really start thinking she didn't accidentally die & then try to cover it up.

They jury cannot even discuss anything amongst themselves until the end when its time for them to deliberate, right?

I sure hope someone took good notes or has an excellent memory and is good at pointing out all the stuff that all the great minds here pick up that go right over my head.

Said it before, but I'll say it again, I don't think I would make a good juror as I can't figure this stuff out & need to people to spell it out for me.

Agree, Mr Kronk is no choir boy...he actually comes across as rather slimey to me. I don't think he cared at all about poor Caylee, just the money he thought he'd get, but he didn't have a thing to do with her death or where the body was. I think he was actively searching that area (not just relieving himself) because he really thought she might be there and then he actually found her. To say he had the body and was moving it around? Completely ridiculous.

Correct, the jurors are not allowed to dicuss the case at all...even amoungst themselves until they start deliberating. They all have notebooks and are allowed to take notes and have been seen doing so during the trial.

I would not make a good juror because I couldn't NOT put any weight on the defendant's decision not to testify. If you didn't do it and have nothing to hide, why wouldn't you want to testify? ESPECIALLY in this case.
