Casey Anthony TRIAL thread #2

So we listened to this guy drone on all day so we could learn 4 things

1-Casey searched cloroform

2-Google basically told her she's an idiot and that she should've stayed in school and gave her the correct spelling which is Chloroform

3-She went to one chloroform site 84 times

4-Her computer takes anywhere from 2 seconds to 2 minutes to load pages

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

You and me both. I have a ton to sort through. Plus, SOMETHING is slowing down my laptop...could it be Twitter?? I've given up on my laptop completely today.

Mine has been really slow today too. It is so frustrating.

Just a comment on HLN...George, Cindy and Lee all refused polygraphs. The only one they know of who DID take one was Jesse Grund. Personally, I'd hate to have to take one...I just think I've got the ol' Catholic guilt thing going on and in general "feel" guilty. LOL Not sure if that would skew things.

See, I've always thought that I wouldn't want to take one either. I'm not Catholic, but I am Southern Baptist, so that probably gets me close enough regarding feeling guilty. ;)

But besides that, I've seen so many times where people took polygraphs, failed them, and then were found to be completely innocent. I do think they are semi-reliable but not completely.

Just curious, how did Baez respond to that?

You know-it is painfully difficult to watch the trial on HLN on Comcast with all the commercials AND the 5 minute "shows" they have every half hour. It is crazy!

I am shocked that Baez did not attempt to assert any reasonable doubt that Casey could have done the searches. Even if she confesses she did them, it would require no lying on his part.

The 5pm show that is on HLN right now reminded me there is an IT guy on the jury. HOT DIGGITY DOG! He can certainly make some sense out of all this to the rest of the jury. That is a GOOD thing.

JVM also commented that it is possible that Casey researched these various topics to come up with a method of disguising a murder. One example she gave is that they were attacked and beaten and poor Caylee died. Just because Casey researches something and it ends up not being relevant to this case--is irrelevant.

I search a gazillion things on a regular basis---especially for trip planning. As a WHOLE--it shows that I was looking into or planning a trip. Even if I end up not doing a particular thing or staying at a particular location. Together it shows I was up to something. (that sentence sounds bad--I but you know what I mean. :))

Just because evidence does not show that Casey used these methods to off her child--as a grouping, it is indicative that someone had a heavy curiosity in harming someone for whatever reason. The fact that someone ended up being harmed in this family--is what shows that this was possibly research, however big or little into how harm could take place.

I have one request--and only because of the topic, I am not sure I would get to watch it as I will be out and would have to tivo and wouldn't be able to look at what was said....

Mackenzie Phillips will be on Issues with JVM. I am very interested in what she has to say. She was victimized by her dad (per her testimony) and her life was messed up as a result...she will be commenting on her opinion on whether or not the defense claim that Casey lies due to something happening has any merit from her observation. I will admit I only want her to say NO WAY JOSE (;))---but curious as to what opinions she does express.

It seems McKenzie only harmed herself. I would be surprised if during her recovery that she could come to the conclusion that she would be able to lie about physically harming other people as a result of her abuse in the manner that the defense is suggesting.

Anyway--if someone could be the eyes and ears and post about it, I Would be most forever grateful.

*sheepishly raising her hand*....

I posted....

But I Will admit, I only want her to tell me what I would agree with in this case.
Please don't think that I think anything less of anyone who wants to see Mackenzie Phillips discuss the case. I personally have an issue with "stars" commenting on news, and I have to say...I also have an issue with claims of sexual abuse as excuses...

She did NOT graduate from high school. She acts like she has a Masters though.

Baez brings out on cross that Cindy had a graduation party planned for Casey. Invited people – and the day before graduation day, Casey’s guidance counselor called to inform Cindy and George that Casey had never made up a ¼ credit in English she needed to make up that George and Cindy were under the impression she had completed. Baez asks Cindy what would have happened if this counselor had not called – and Cindy says they would have gone to graduation.

I can't imagine that Casey wasn't fully aware that she wouldn't be graduating, I think she just didn't pass that info along to Cindy. Thinking back to my graduation, you couldn't even be fitted for a robe weeks ahead unless you were cleared to graduate.

:rolleyes1

So noone is going to do my dirty work and tell me what she says. I'm having a Baez pout-moment.:rotfl:
Having said all I said above...I MIGHT WATCH! LOL I have it set to record, before I knew who was going to be on. But depending on how it goes, I might have to stop watching. If I watch, I'll let you know. Don't you have TIVO/DVR? :confused3

I bet Casey managed to do everything in her power to intercept any phone calls or notices to her parents about not graduating before that one got through.

I honestly don't remember him saying anything....That may be why they're bringing the witness back tomorrow.

ETA: Hold on--I remember he kept saying something about each time was 2 seconds...1 second etc so she couldn't have done any real searching. Then the prosecution asked the guy point blank and he said that it wasn't how long she stayed on the site but how long it took to get there--then the prosecution asked if he could tell if she printed anything and he said no

I really hate to defend Casey on anything but the brother of my DD's best friend just did the exact same thing. He was a credit short and didn't bother to tell his parents! They had all these plans for his party and the ceremony only to find out about three days before hand that he couldn't walk the stage. Some teens just don't have their act together. In his case, he is taking the class online right now and will get his diploma before August when he starts at our local community college. I assume Casey did the same thing because didn't she take a few classes at Valencia Community College or was that a friend of hers?

Someone in my senior class ended up failing Senior English. I do not recall how much of it he failed (i.e. if he failed one or both semesters and had to make up a 1/2 or full credit). I do know he expected to walk and did not cut the mustard his final semester.

He had to go to summer school. No walking, no diploma. And I was kind of glad because he was a jerk face. Many were thinking--wow, senior photos, invitations--the whole shebang...and he flunks enough to not have enough credits to graduation.:scared1:

No idea how and if he realized or if he was lying though. It was beyond many of our comprehension to be so close--but denied.

I do, I also have 4 young children and having a woman who claims she had sex with her dad on a regular basis is programming I try to avoid playing while kids are in the house....maybe if dad took them somewhere. Plus So You Think you Can dance and America's got TAlent are on and I just wouldn't get a chance to watch before I got vetoed. My curiousity cannot wait until 10pm to find out what happened on a 7pm show.

But I guess I could google it. Think wikipedia will have an update?:lmao:

Just found out a friend of mine from here was in the balcony today! She's going back tomorrow and try to get in again :):thumbsup2

George, Cindy and Lee's lawyer is on HLN now and said that NONE of Casey's diaries (the place where you might write those things down) mention sexual abuse by her father and Lee. The only hint of any allegation that Casey wrote was in a letter to that inmate that she was trying to befriend, in which she said that she thought she had a dream about her father doing these things. He said he hasn't read the psychological evaluations of Casey but has been privy to what it says, and what it says is different from what was said in the opening statement. :confused3 And what they were told 6 - 7 weeks ago, is different than what actually came out in the opening statement.

*shakes head* amazing that you can tell yourself something and grow to believe it......:confused3

:lmao: Well there ya go! I will do my best to get through it...we'll see.

I think Baez is going in and changing Wikipedia entries to "facts" that will prove his case. ;)

Coming out of "lurkdom" to pose this question (and just for the record, I absolutely believe she is guilty).

In most of Casey's jailhouse visit videos she alludes to the fact that she couldn't say anything because she was protecting someone...the family, Caylee, herself, whoever.

Does anyone think the defense could use all the computer searches to say she was learning how to protect herself, the family or Caylee from "these people".

Sure. He can try......

No because Jose said there was no other people in his opening statements. He said Caylee died in the pool and George covered it up.

She's not the one that someone mentioned earlier that got ejected for gum chewing, is she?? :)

2 things -

I'm starting to think that Baez doesn't believe the story of Caylee getting into the pool herself and drowning. He just asked the computer expert about the timeframe between when some history was deleted and when "Caylee went missing." Per his opening statement, she wasn't missing. She was deceased on June 16. She can't be missing and deceased.

Other thing, as an attorney, you never never ever ask a question you don't already know the answer too. He's asked questions, gotten and answer he apparently didn't like and then interupts the witness. :sad2:

well, we all know that if he waited till he had questions that he knew the answers to we'd be listening to dead air for a long time.

So she searched 92 times?

:scared1:

Is it possible this man knows his client is guilty and he's just going through the motions here cause I would really hate to think that a lawyer is this stupid.

This one made me laugh ...:lmao: I think I'm going to start saying that people "are pulling a Baez" when they make stupid comments or do something dumb.

Okay, Baez should sit on the witness stand and go back and forth and cross examine himself at least he will get the answers he wants.

another :lmao:

"Where Justice Begins"

"Aggressive, Experienced, Trusted Criminal Defense"

"Effective and Aggressive Orange County Criminal Defense Attorneys"

All quoted from his website. Can we say FALSE ADVERTISING??? :lmao:

and don't forget the picture of him on there which is a TV screen shot of CNN and references tot mom. :sad2:

Heck no, I'm totally second quessing myself on every search now.

I did that a few years back when I was doing a paper on The Patriot Act and was researching terrorism among other things..and then wondering if this whole "search" thing could come back and haunt me. LOL.

Google Instant for "How to make chl" you get "How to make chloroform to knock someone out!" Think Casey hit "I'm feeling lucky?"

I wondering how many people are googling that due to this trial?

I could see Casey going though all the motions right up to going to the ceremony and then very last minute saying "oh yeah, I'm not graduating"

I can't wait to see HOW he proves that opening statement.
