Oh wait until the scientific experts testify. The defense will cross examine with Dorothy Sims who is also a bumbling mess!
Is there a "Trial lawyering for Dummies"? Should send it to Bozo.
There are good attorneys and not so good, but I don't know if any of what's happened so far translates into a mistrial. This also isn't the first trial to be a circus; I also don't think that in and of itself, no matter any idiot being able to see it, qualifies it for mistrial status. The circus atmosphere of this trial isn't going to change if it gets retried...it will probably only be bigger; so does that mean she (and any future defendant?) can get off because the media ran with it? In this age of communication technology, we can forget big cases like this NOT becoming a circus.no he wouldn't allow it....(motive??)...I don't know "officially" what you have to have for a mistrial...but any idiot can see this is a circus. JB is not prepared, has been repeatedly spoken to by the judge and now the jury are already itching to go home....
its a shame they did not bring up the fact Tony would not allow Caylee to spend the night...
Who is Dorothy Sims?
Reallly? Tony would not allow Caylee to stay over night . hmm, could that be a possibility that Caylee is no longer with us . Remember Susan Smith, her bf stated he did not want kids.
Maybe I am stretching this abit but if that was true and CA was madly in love with TL, and he had some issues with Caylee hmm, UNLESS its not that at all. I mean that environment, college kids, coming and going, alllot of partying its just not the place for a 2yo.
Just a thought.

Baez is an idiot. he kept badgering George A about suspecting Casey. Does he really want the jury to know WHY he suspected Casey? They havent gotten into that yet. The girl was always lying and stealing from them to the tune of tens of thousands of dollars. Does Bozo really want the jury to hear that?
When this first happened, George did a lot to not make Casey look bad now its coming back to haunt him becuase Bozo is using it to make George look like a liar. All the denial and covering for Casey is going to bite Cindy and George in the butt.
Interesting. I THINK the last ones picked ARE the alternates, but I guess they don't know they are, or at least, not for sure. That's an interesting question tho...up until what point can they put an alternate in...during deliberations, or only up until? And DO they need to stick around, even if not deliberating, until a verdict is reached? Truly has been interesting watching this process.
BAEZ! I think Judge Perry is going to tell Baez to ****!
Something Casey did not think about when she got pregnant, days of partying ended and real responsibility has become real. Being in that enviroment, she just did not want to sit by and see everyone else have fun and she had to take care of Caylee. She really did not think about the mess when she thought about getting rid of Caylee. She probably did not think it would all come to this and her being in jail.
Good thought.

Are they back at 1 PM or 1:30???? I think I said 1:30 upthread, but now InSession is saying "any minute".![]()
It's highly likely the matter of Casey's thievery cannot be discussed & this has already been hammered out before the trial started. Even so, it's likely there would be plenty of sidebars regarding this issue anytime the Prosecution or its witnesses go anywhere near mentioning it or appear to.
Generally prior bad acts of a defendant cannot be brought into a trial on separate charges.
If this is in fact true in this case, Baez may try to paint George & the other witnesses into a corner, knowing they have been warned not to mention stealing, etc., and if they do he will immediately object & likely make a motion for mistrial. Not likely at all he would get it, but it does open a window for the appellate process.
But, if I recall correctly, you weren't allowed to take notes. And again, this is a sequestered jury, which, IIRC, yours was not. I think there are potential issues with letting the alternates leave while the others remain sequestered. But Judge Perry said he couldn't answer that question now...not sure why. Either because he doesn't think they should have that information now because it might affect how they view the rest of the case (thinking they might go home sooner as alternates), or because he needs to think about it, or study case law, or whatever. When I was an alternate, I had to sit through the trial until deliberation began. At that point, I was excused and told to go home.
The alternates need to hear everything the regular jurors hear up until time to deliberate. At any time, one of the alternates could be substituted for a juror, should the juror not be able to continue to serve, until deliberation starts. At that point, the alternates should be dismissed. Of course, in this type of case, who knows? I can't see them substituting an alternate once deliberation starts because it would confuse things and set the deliberation back tremendously. The alternate would have no idea of prior conversations during the deliberations.
It was when they were dating early in the year I think that they were sleeping together with Caylee in the bed, not in June when she stayed there?George, and two ex's...Ricardo and Tony. Tony was at the time of Caylee's death. He'll be back on the stand this afternoon.
she was doing the computer searches prior to being with Tony though, but I do think that could be added to motive. The sad thing is, the grandparents would have gladly taken her, but Casey saw her as a pawn.Reallly? Tony would not allow Caylee to stay over night . hmm, could that be a possibility that Caylee is no longer with us . Remember Susan Smith, her bf stated he did not want kids.

We were correct. Whew! I guess InSession thinks 35 minutes is "any minute".I thought 1:30 as well.
In that respect, I feel a little (VERY LITTLE) sorry for Casey. She didn't want Caylee. She was very clear on that. Cindy didn't "allow" her to give Caylee up. For all the ugliness that happened, Casey, at the time DID know she didn't want to be a mother, that she wasn't ready. This is the unfortunate, extreme, outcome of forcing people to have children that they don't want.
She didn't want Caylee from the start why should we be surprised that she 'got rid of' her when the pressure got too great?
I'm all for Casey rotting in jail. But I'm not going to call George and Cindy "innocent" in this mess. Casey was quite clear on who she was and who she wanted to be...they didn't listen.
By the same token, just because we think he's a bumbling idiot, doesn't mean it qualifies as being so incompetent that she'd get a new trial, right? One thing that concerns me about the Baez defense is that while his bumbling, lack of a brain persona may be funny to watch, it may lead to Casey being granted an entirely new trial because she can certainly prove her lawyer was incompetent.
