If the other jurors are as stupid as the alternate juror they just interviewed on HLN then it is no wonder why they found her not guilty.......

I agree completely. He sounded like a complete moron.

I guess that is partly the prosecution's fault, they had a big part in who sat on this jury.

A lurker here from threads 1-5... but, now I'm really confused.

Was she found not guilty of child abuse (aggravated? not sure of the exact charge)? I don't get how not reporting your child missing (dead or assumed alive) is not abuse??

I don't, I think she will be just fine with the money rolling in. That is, unless she does something else, like OJ, and end up in jail again.

No, now she has a stigma behind her name. People are not fond of her at all, most will find disgust in her crap that she puts out.

And maybe she will commit another offense. OJ did. She lies.

And I keep having to remind myself that she'll get her day. Maybe not today, but in the future.

I wish people would not act like animals and go after them! It's not their fault their daughter is a murderer. They were not on trial.

I agree. The difference with OJ was that he was also a very famous celebrity before those murders, so that added to the attraction. Casey was a nobody before this and I think she will be a nobody again.

Local news announced that he will retire at the end of the week. If anyone is interested, he will be on The View tomorrow.

Cindy and George have gone into hiding. They have received numerous death threats.

ok - i understand how angry we all are but really????? death threats??? how on earth does that make those people any better? making idle threats is rediculous and honestly they should be charged. the jury system works - we might not like how it ended but it's the system that is in place

isn't that what everyone says when the outcome is what you think it should be? has to be the same both ways. proof beyond reasonable doubt - it didn't work with OJ, Michael Jackson and this case but worked for Scott Peterson, Susan Smith and that one who drowned her 5 kids.

it isn't perfect but it's the systum you've got (we have the same one up here too)

I am so sad right now. This is definately one of those "life's not fair" moments. It's not fair that that baby girl was treated so horribly and killed. It's not fair that all of those who were working on this case (prosecutors, detectives, etc) were working for justice and it didn't happen. It's not fair that people who know they were able to let a killer walk will profit from this. It's not fair that ICA will probably go on to have more children, but will never be a mother.


From the beginning of this trial I have felt the biggest thing going against the prosecution was the jury. HJBP was very fair to the citizens and allowed them to show family and financial hardships. I really felt that the people who would be on this jury would be those who could give up two months of their life and feel like this was a good alternative. I think it was difficult to find a true jury of responsible self providers.

After receiving death threats, George and Cindy Anthony are in hiding, WFTV-Channel 9 reported tonight.

The parents of Casey Anthony were the first to leave the courtroom after Anthony was acquitted of first-degree murder today, anchor Martie Salt noted. WFTV offered footage of the Anthonys leaving quickly with their attorney, Mark Lippman, after hearing the verdict.

Lippman said it was too early to say if the Anthonys would welcome Casey back, WFTV’s George Spencer reported. Defense attorney Jose Baez, in his opening statement, accused George of sexually abusing Casey and helping cover up the drowning death of Caylee.

WESH-Channel 2’s Bob Kealing read a statement the Anthonys issued through Lippman. Kealing said, “Now that Casey Anthony may be on the verge of gaining her freedeom, this statement from the Anthony family suggests she may have lost them in the process,” Kealing said.

In the statement, the family said it had closure and would rebuild their lives, but described Casey’s claims against George as baseless. The family called the verdict fair and said the they wanted to move forward privately.

But Kealing highlighted that the family expressed no support for Casey. After the verdict, Cindy seemed relieved and George didn’t register a response, Kealing said. “The ones you saw Casey actually celebrating with were the defense team, who have in essence become her family,” Kealing said.

Spencer also highlighted the Anthonys’ statement that the verdict was fair. “We have learned they are very scared,” Spencer reported. ”They are in hiding right now because George and Cindy Anthony have actually been receiving death threats.”

Lippman said threats against the Anthonys were on the Internet and that the Orange County Sheriff’s Office was investigating.

Unfortunatly this was bound to happen, when the mother lies for the child she put herself out there as well. and that's how people are looking at this. If they thought there life was hell drom the start this may only be the beginning.

While the family may never know what has happened to Caylee Marie Anthony, they now have closure for this chapter of their life. They will now begin the long process of rebuilding their lives.

Despite the baseless defense chosen by Casey Anthony, the family believes that the Jury made a fair decision based on the evidence presented, the testimony presented, the scientific information presented and the rules that were given to them by the Honorable Judge Perry to guide them.

The family hopes that they will be given the time by the media to reflect on this verdict and decide the best way to move forward privately.

The family also wanted the public to know that if anyone wanted to honor Caylee by leaving stuffed animals or other toys at any area near their home, that they would prefer those items be donated in Caylee's name to families in need, religious centers, or any other entity where the toys would be appreciated.

I really hope the real Zenaida Gonzalez wins her civil suit against ICA for a huge amount. It would be nice to see any money Casey gets from the book deals go straight to Zenaida.

My Dad called and was wondering if someone could bring a wrongful death civil case against Casey so that if convicted of that, she can't profit from the death of Caylee. The Goldman's did this to OJ. I told him that it probably wouldn't happen because who would bring the case against her? I don't think her parents will and I'm sure it would be too expensive to pursue. Who knows, with Casey becoming a cash cow, her parents may accept her back so they don't have to go back to work. I do think it is insane that they are receiving death threats. What is that going to solve?

The book publishers will give her a contract, whether the book sells or not she will get a pay day. Don't forget this has been a case covered worlwide, they will not be looking at just US sales but also worlwide sales. Plus, many foreign talk shows will pay big bucks to have her on. It is not only about this case but how our judicial system works and other countries fascination/contempt for our use of the death penalty and this was a death penalty case.

Casey will have her followers like it or not look at Roman Polanski.

Since she's been found Not Guilty I wonder if she'll release some statement saying what happened (or least her version). We'll probably have to buy the book. I'm guessing that because of Double Jeopardy she couldn't be retried, even if she admitted to child abuse.

I do believe it was an accident and I couldn't have voted guilty based on the evidence I heard (which wasn't much). I do think George was a problem, at a certain point I started doubting him.

Her behavior after knowing her child was dead baffles me. I'm not sure what she's guilty of but seems to me should serve time for something.

We all know that no one else in this world killed that baby-doll. NO.ONE.ELSE.

I don't want to blame this jury but who do we blame for this outcome ….
