In the first matter, sadly I can't hold a candle to your own esteemed abilities.
In the second, are you sexist? Why do you assume the participants in the thread are all women?

May I ask about your credentials? What is your basis for commenting on others "legal minds"?

It is a sad fact that you cannot strike someone from the jury for being as dumb as a box of rocks.

I am not passionate about this case. But, both the defense and the state participated in jury selection.

Yes, and when the State wanted to let the juror who "can't judge people" go, the defense cried racism and got their way.

I have a very good legal mind, thank you. I very seriously doubt that you share it.

Please, before you pontificate with inadequate information and damn the State of Florida with an apparent wish for murderers to roam free, perhaps you should email Judge Perry himself with your thoughts not waste them on us.;)

I won't need to, as no doubt, you have and that will settle the matter in a way which suits your opinion :)

Isn't waiting a month to tell ANYONE your toddler is missing a crime? Neglect? Something????

She did nothing wrong except lie to police? Unbelievable. :sad2:

MTE!!!!

Note to self: if I want to get away with murder, all I have to do is kill someone in FL, hide the fact that said person has been missing for 31 days, ask my mommy to report the missing person, come up with some lies about where I work and having a friend/nanny who took my victim, concoct some crazy-butt story about an accident, hire an incompetent team of lawyers, and get off scott free.

Yippeee ... so many victims on the list, so little time ...

No "smugness"...just a simple observation of the facts. His "error" is that he failured to prove is arguement and thus lost the case. I agree is closing will be studied for years...as a failure.

What did the Defensive prove? That George molested Casey, that Lee molested Casey, that the guy that found the Caylee's skull was out for money. He tried to prove that it was everyone else's fault but Casey's.

The more I hear about the jury the more I think WOW what a brilliant group!!One arrested for DUI, one arrested for drug paraphaniala, and 2 who made it to the 11th grade!!

I'm sorry, I'm not trying to argue with anybody, but I find this a bit rude. :confused3 Out of 12 jurors, a few have had some run ins with the law, and it doesn't necessarily make them terrible people. I say this probably because I've known people who have been charged with DUI or who do drugs and while it's not ideal... It doesn't necessarily mean they're terrible people and they're typically not stupid either, all it really takes is just a moment of bad judgement. I don't think not graduating high school is a reason to look down upon someone either. Maybe I'm just too naive.

Either way, there were 12 jurors, even if two didn't graduate high school and three had had some sort of run in with the law. That doesn't account for the seven others who were able to reach a verdict of not guilty in ten hours (although I honestly believe they reached that verdict last night.)

They proved that there was insuficient evidence to convince the jury to convict.

As much as I hate to say this, cause that little witch killed that baby, the defense doesn't have to prove anything.

Im finding it harder to deal with folks who are hiding behind the "its our system" explanation to accept that a killer has gone free.

All I hear is that criminals have a right to be acquitted because there is no smoking gun. How did we ever convict anyone before DNA, video, audio and th like? Common sense people! A jury is there to judge and evaluate. To peruse the evidence, to really examine it,not sit on their butts and wait for the evidence to slap them in the face! After nearly 2 months of testimony, they reviewed the evidence in 10 hours? I call BS!

Yep this..............seem there is alot of confusion between reasonable doubt and without a doubt.

Guess what? THEY DIDN'T!! They didn't ask for ONE PIECE of evidence to examine and they didn't ask ONE question!!!!!!

Disgusting.

exactly. If I really thought the jury did their job the way they should, if I thought that they actually gave it careful thought and worked through it I would not be so upset. I still wouldn't have liked the outcome but I could at least believe they made an educated and well thought out decision and didn't take it lightly. They all (and this is my opinion only) formed their opinions before deliberation. They left their notepads on their chairs, they didn't ask to go over testimony...nothing. I'll say it again..I think they wanted out and didn't want to spend any time going over the charges and they just wanted it over. I think they did a huge disservice to the victim. And just because some will say I would think different if she was found guilty...nope...I was very upset that they were not asking to review anything, I was wondering how they could remember all they had heard and put it together, they didn't. There is no way their minds were not made up ahead of time.

Your opinion and unfortunately the opinion of the few people that mattered. Most of those people, I am of the opinion, weren't fit to be on the jury. To me and many others, he did prove beyond a reasonable doubt that she did murder her child. Just because 12 people said that he didn't prove his point, doesn't make it true, well legally it does and again unfortunately this is what we have to go on.

We thought the world was flat a long time ago, and I am sure people argued in agreement with this theory, didn't make it true either. Just as what you say, with such smugness, isn't necessarily true. Just because you are passionate, doesn't make you right.

:lmao:

and with that I have to stay away from this thread for a bit. I'm getting too aggravated again. Time to focus on my trip that is rapidly approaching

I'm still floored by this agh, Scott Petterson got convicted and there was less evidence in his trial then this one

Christ on a cracker...some people in this thread need to be held in contempt.

They proved that there was insuficient evidence to convince the jury to convict.

That wasn't too hard to do with some only having an 11th grade education, one that doesn't like to judge, one or 2 that were abused, or had abused and one or 2 with their own legal run ins with the law. I don't know about you , but these aren't my peers.
