Carthay Circle... World of Color Package or Full Regular menu

I have to post this... there was a similar thread here on The Dis a couple of weeks ago. The whole is there a prix menu or not at Carthay Cirlce. So I emailled Disney Dining (this is rexactly my email) :
Hello! We are having lunch at Carthay Cirlcle on Aug 7 for the World of
Color passes? Is lunch prix fixe or is it appetizer/entrée or
entrée/dessert?

Today, this is the response I receievd from Disney Dining:

Disney Dining

Thank you for contacting dine@disneyland.com.

Carthay Circle Restaurant is not a pre fixed menu. Each member of the
party must order an entree with either an appetizer or dessert.

If you were interested in a pre fixed menu you are able to dine at Wine
Country Trattoria (lunch or dinner) or Ariel's Grotto (dinner only).

Should you have additional questions, please contact us again by
replying to this e-mail.

Best Regards,

:badpc: Comments???

:badpc: Okay they need to get their story straight. I was told this morning that it's a pre fixed menu this morning on the phone when I called Disney Dining.

Just to add to everyone else's experience: I ate there last week for dinner with the WOC package. They handed me a prix fixe menu when seated. I didn't realize they had switched to a prix fixe menu and asked if I could order off the regular menu. I explained that I understood that I had to order multiple courses. They were fine with my request and brought out the regular menu.

I never looked at the prix fixe menu and I know I spent way more than what the prix fixe menu included, but I went there to enjoy the food and atmosphere - not worry about a budget.

We ate at Carthy Circle last Friday. I had booked the reservation online in late May 2013 which stated you had to order one entree and either an app or desert. They honored the old deal and give us the WOC package. I had the fire duck wings and eggplant sandwich, both of which were very good. I took my DS9 with me to WOC which we both enjoyed. We gave away our two extra tickets to a alady and her young daughter (DW wanted to get DS3 to bed earlier that night) and set up shop around 8:15 on the top of the stairs center view. This was a great viewing point as no one stood in front of us. We were close enough to get a little wet, as well feeling the intense heat from the flames at the end of the show.

We ate there last week too, we told them we were there for the world of color meal and they gave us the prix fixe menu. We were a little disappointed because we planned on having the duck wings and biscuits. We just ordered them anyway. I got the soup and it was okay, and hubby got the salad and we didn't waste much time on them because the biscuits were so good. The duck wings were okay but so spicy and we like super spicy food. The meal was worth it, as the atmosphere is great and the food is good. I did get the new pasta dish and it was okay but I would order something else next time. The viewing location for the show was nice too.

I received the same response from vacation planning, but it seems to me they have not been given the updated information, which is frustrating. My guess is it's up to the discretion of the CM whether to honor the old way or not.

I made a reservation today for this package w/lunch on July 14. The CM on the phone said it was a prix fixe menu. The DLR website still says app or dessert plus entree. This is very strange for Disney.

I'm devastated about this change :(

I wonder if they'd let me pay the $59 and just have a burger and dessert

I made reservations for this yesterday BEFORE finding this thread and was surprised when she told me there was a fixed price but she said nothing about a fixed menu. We did this in March under the old rules.

I'm disappointed the biscuits and wings aren't on the menu as well and the dessert selection seems lacking.

I am going to contact Guest Services about this. It might not change anything but if enough people do it, maybe they'll notice. As a friend used to say "they can't hit ya".

I did yesterday too. If we have the limited menu forced on us I will be complaining on yelp as well.

I'm wondering why the price difference between lunch and dinner for the pre fixe menu. Is the food the same?

Is the WOC Package at Carthay available year-round? Our trip is planned for mid-November, and I'm hoping this will still be available with the park closing earlier. The fixed menu will not be a problem for my daughter and I as long as there is one vegetarian option. I'm thinking that's all we would have on the regular menu as well. :)

I believe it is available year round.

We ate at Carthy last week We hadn't booked the WOC package, just a dinner reservation. When we were seated we were asked if we were interested in WOC. We said maybe and got the fixed price menu as well as the regular menu. Then our server said that we could get the WOC passes, if we spent $59 (the price of the fixed price dinner) x three people (there were 3 of us), excluding adult beverages. As it turned out, one of us wasn't very hungry and only ordered an appetizer. I highly recommend the appetizers. We had four and they were all great.
