Carthay Circle Menus Here

Dessert menu anyone...? That's something else we're in dire need of.

...Or at least, I'm in dire need of. ;)

I didn't take a picture of it, there were only 4 or 5 options. We had the Fried Banana Split Monte Cristo Sundae for $15. Well. There were 5 or 6 banana slices under something fried that was smaller than a Twinkie. And 3 itty bitty scoops of ice cream on top. I don't mind elegantly presented food- but this was ridiculous. It was about 4 bites. What a rip off. Save the money and have some GREAT sundaes over at Ghiardelli for half the price.

That said- the duck wings and halibut ceviche were GREAT, the Kobe beef sliders were delicious, the pasta and lamb so-so.

I'm looking forward to more reviews! DH and I wanted to have our fancy dinner at Napa Rose, but this is tempting too!

How was the wine list?

Interesting that people find $22 for a cheeseburger ludicrous but think it's perfectly suitable for the Cobb salad to be that much. Honestly, I figure like Napa Rose, this will be high-end food so both are probably worth it. You can't just compare two cheeseburgers by their ingredients and assume the taste is the same. Trust me, if that's how things worked I would be making my own food every night rather than paying the prices I do to eat out weekly (prices which are definitely comparable to the ones posted on this thread). I would say "maybe the food will not be worth, who can say" but then we can just look at the blog about the preview dinner to see that the food seems to be quite delicious.

Do you have the link for the preview dinner blog? I can't seem to find the info.
We are headed there next week, reservations on Thursday night!!

Are the portions really so small? For that much money, we don't want to pay for teeny portions, even if it gives us a good WoC spot. Is it just the desserts or is everything in small portions?

Fifteen dollars for four bites is ridiculous...

How was the wine list?

I didn't see a full list. I am assuming its extensive. There were 3 featured wines on the main menu- a Fess Parker, Lasseter Family, and a third that I knew but it escapes me at the moment. They were about $15/glass. Darn I should've taken a picture of the menu! :headache: It was lunch and I was more in the mood for a cocktail. I got a mojito (not good- I had one at the Hearthstone Lounge in GCH last Friday that was great, which is why I ordered it) and DH had a cocktail called Plim's punch (or something to that effect). That was pretty good, and not as sweet as the server suggested it might be. :thumbsup2

I was thinking of the Kobe beef sliders so good to know. Did they come with anything? Did you feel like that and some of those rolls would be enough to eat? I've seen the dessert menu and I know we'd rather save the money (and the calories ;) ) for yummy snacks else where in the parks.

Thank you!!

We will be there this coming Thursday! Very excited!!:cool1:

I may not be a wine connoisseur but the list of wines was fairly lengthy, maybe even as long as Napa Rose's. It took us a while to get the wine list however, but I think that may be due to opening day, opening time jitters.

For those of you who are interested in going, I hear they're booked solid for the next three weeks :o I'm sure there'll be cancellations and such, but it's great to know that they're so popular already :)

I had the halibut ceviche, and the (chicken) liver & onions, both of which were delicious. For dessert I had the peach cannoli, which was also delicious.

Is there a menu somewhere for the offerings in the lounge?

It doesn't surprise me at all that they are booked solid, I'm glad I made us a reservation!! We go in 2 weeks and 4 days, we eat at CCT 2 days after that! YAY!!
