I know that DL doesn't enforce the fastpass return times (after the start time), however, I thought I had read on another thread awhile back something about enforcing the RSR fastpass? Not sure if it was just a speculation or if this has happened?
Trying to book dinner at Goofy's for the same day we will get FP's for RSR, in October. Dinner at Goofy's is long and drawn out, plus walk time and we usually will take this time to shop in DTD since we are walking right through... So if they are enforcing this FP, it's near impossible to make this kind of dinner reservation, since we won't know what our return time is.

Hopefully this won't be an issue at all anyways:goodvibes

They weren't enforcing when I was there a couple weeks ago, and if they do enforce I would demand to speak to a lead or manager right away. If they still turn you down, I would go to Guest Relations and speak to someone there (and ask them for a front of line pass for all your trouble).

Thank you for the info! Good to know they weren't enforcing:thumbsup2
I certainly wouldn't blame them if they did, just would not make planning around it easy. We have become spoiled with the leniency of the rules. Character meals are the only ones I worry about having reservations for, otherwise we are totally flexible on our eating schedule.

Yes, and when you get to the park don't bother with the parking garage. Just pull your car onto the esplanade and park in front of the turnstyles. If anyone says anything to you about it, just go to guest relations and complain.

Oh, and ask for your ticket to be refunded for your inconvenience.

Got FPs for RSR on Tue (1:30p return) and Wed (4:30p return) this week and didn't use them until the evening and had no problems.

One tip a CM gave us as we were coming off about 3 mins before closing. If you're in line at close, you will still get to ride, they just stop letting new people get in line after close.

Well, if the CMs tell guests it is OK to park in the Esplanade like they tell guests it is OK to use FPs after the window then I guess Disney should be prepared for guests to park in the Esplanade.

:cool2:

How could they possibly enforce FP on RSR? The ride breaks down multiple times a day. What if it was broken down during your FP window? Seems like you would really hear a lot more about it, from very unhappy guests reporting back here. :)

I understand that Disneyland hasn't been enforcing FP return times at DLR for years, but just because they have been kind enough to let it slide in the past doesn't mean they can't start enforcing if they feel the need.

Inalienable rights endowed by our Creator and protected by our government: life, liberty, the pursuit of happiness, and riding RSR at whatever time is desired. Ummm, no.

This. Aside from the whole controversy about regular FPs being enforced, it definitely should be when RSR has been breaking down frequently throughout the day. Especially with all of the hassle of actually waiting 20-30 min at park opening to get those FPs. Yup, Disney will make sure that those guests do end up getting to ride.

They don't enforce the return times. We went 8 hours after our window, and it was accepted without question.

Still, my advice is to not wait until too close to close to ride. We thought we were being so smart to wait until about 9 p.m., but the ride broke down and was down for several hours. We ended up being able to ride--but just barely. We literally got into the line at 10:57 p.m.

It does tend to break down frequently. And when it does, it takes a minimum of 45 minutes to get back up (at least that's what a CM told us). If you walk by and it's up and the FP line isn't too long, RIDE!

Silly question.
Why go through the trouble of getting a FastPass,if you can't be 'bothered' to show up at that time? :confused3
What if 'everybody' who got a FP showed up at the same time? That line would be all the out to Harbor. :rolleyes1
Let's go back to the ticket books and make us make some real-life hard choices. :stir:

Because sometimes things happen through the day, and the CMs don't care as long as you're not there *before* the time.

Doesn't matter what would happen IF, it's not ever GOING to happen. And if it did? Then the standby line would probably be extremely short, and the line would go fast. Most people use them on time. It's just never going to be the "if" situation.

No, it doesn't always take a minimum of 45 to start working again. We were stuck on it and it didn't take more than 15-20 minutes for it come back up again. And we waited multiple times while the ride was down and again, it didn't take 45 minutes to come back up. Can it take that long? Sure, but it doesn't always.

As for enforcing FP return times, naw, not a big deal at DLR/DCA. :)

Because when I get a FP in the morning and then ride standby I want to use that FP at night so I can get a different kind of experience (the ride is much better at night).

I appreciate your kind heart, but if Disney hasn't enforced FP for more than a decade then you SHOULD blame then anytime they do enforce the FP. I know what the ticket says but if you've never enforced it there is a whole lot of precedence out there...

Even at WDW when they changed the policy they did let people know in advance it was changing. Until Disney issues something similar at DL, any enforcement should be met with ire.

For us, we often seem to be on the opposite side of the park from the ride we have the FP for during our window. I'd rather just wait until we make our way back to that area instead of going back and forth across the park to hit that window. It adds a ton of extra walking. Sure we could try and plan to stay in that area until the window, but it usually doesn't work that way.

Just there this week and FP return times are definitely not being enforced at RSR. As someone else said, it breaks down so much I think it would be impossible anyway!

What I think they should do is give you another one for the next day if you are unable to use the one you stood in line for 30 minutes for and then were unable to use because of breakdowns ... but that's another thread, I guess!

When we were there this past Wednesday, the ride kept breaking down, so they were honoring Fast Passes at any time. We had them for 11am and rode around 7pm when the ride was finally working again. The good news is the ride is actually worth the wait!
