Carseats

I'm so bummed our 5yo is getting too big for her sit n stroll- honestly, that seat was the answer to all travel problems! Converts from stroller to seat, goes right into the plane. It was magic for both out kids...not sure what I'll do without it this next trip!!

You can get a seat belt extender from the flight crew to avoid this problem.

Another good trick is to flip the buckle a half twist of the belt so that a flatter part is against the carseat. It also makes it a lot easier to unbuckle when the gflight is over.

Great info. The carseat dilemma is my wife and my greatest anxiety of this next trip. Last trip we checked them in bags, since the kids were lap bound. The though of dragging two seats, strollers and a carry on bag or two has my wife freaking. Thank goodness Grandma and Grandpa are coming with too!

We've got two pairs of car seats, some monstrosities in my wife's car, and I have some cheaper (and way lighter) ones in mine. We're taking the lighter ones.

We check our car seat (a booster seat with a 5-point harness) for DD6 because car rental agencies don't offer what we like. On the airplane, she uses a CARES harness, which basically adds a harness to the airplane seat. She's never flown without it.
