Carrying belongings through the parks

I'm an over-packer and insist on having things like a first aid kit, sun glasses, wallet, camera, poncho, etc. I carry cross body messenger bag by Bagallini. It holds all my essentials and I can easily keep the strap around me but hold the bag in my lap during rides.

I alway opt for a smallish hiking/trail running pack with a hydration pouch since I hate the taste of Disney water. It's just big enough for a few small necessities (wallet, sunglasses, sunscreen, camera), plus you have the bonus that it gets lighter the more water you drink.

I bought one of these small crossbody bags (in a different pattern) for ten dollars at a local store years ago:

I still use the same one whenever I go to any kind of theme park or fair. I leave it on whenever I get on a ride, and it usually fits comfortably under or around the restraints. I tried a backpack once and didn't like it because I had to remove it for rides, and because I couldn't access my stuff without stopping to dig into it. This bag allows easy access as it rests against my hip. I love it for Disney because I always keep my autograph book on me, and it fits perfectly in the top slot. I carry sunglasses, autograph book, pen, phone (with a ziiploc bag for water rides), cash/card/id, a bottle of pain relievers, antibacterial gel, mini-sunscreen, chapstick, and a mini-fan in mine, and still have room for various things like maps and small snacks that we pick up during the day.

I wish I could go bagless! I have the iPhone 6 and it doesn't fit in any of my jean short pockets, or any regular pockets for that matter. I don't like string backpacks either...
I actually found a guy's cargo short that fits me well as a women since it has elastic in the back part of the wait - and GUYS pockets are big enough for the iPhone 6. Rumor is the next iPhone will be smaller - wish I had waited for that!

Depending on how big your camera is, a Vera Bradley mini hipster or Lizzy bag may work for you. Both are cross-body with adjustable straps. They also have a few card slots for ID, credit/debit cards, etc, and fit comfortably under most ride lap bars.

Just bought this bag on Amazon!! It's smaller than it looks but I think it will work well after hearing I can bring it on rides.

There is nowhere to store a bag to go on a ride without it. You have to bring it on the ride. The exception is Kali recently got free lockers so you can store your stuff without getting it soaked and the boats changed so there is nowhere to put your stuff that will stay dry. aka, use the lockers if that ride is opened when your going.

You'll be happy with that bag.

I didn't know I could do that, but if I can, I will for sure.

Insert standard warning about debit cards vs credit cards or gift cards.

Would you give an unknown Disney employee direct access to your checking account?

I use a Lowepro sling padded backpack for everything. It is comfortable, easy to carry, easy to access and does not stick out too far off my back.

That looks like a good bag. Just curious why you didn't just bring your camera bag and shove all your other stuff in it? Let me guess...you wanted something new for your trip and that Amazon Prime just makes it so easy :)...trust me I know :o

I have a small bag with pouches on each end for Thermos chill bottles and a center compartment for my Nikon, hand sanitizer, and a few other small item.
It can be a fanny bag, a shoulder bag, or a handle carry bag depending on how I configure the strap.
I got it at Wal Mart for about $10.00 and this will be my fourth trip to The World with it.

I bring a my school backpack with me. It's a Jansport and has held up for 4 years of school and at least 6 Disney trips.

Can i ask where/what brand you got this?!?!

Sorry, didn't see this post, and I know you already bought a bag. I bought the fanny pack at WDW, and think I bought the cross body bag online at the Disney Store, but not totally sure about that. Your new bag looks nice.

We actually just bring a stroller. Daughter doe not even need it anymore, but we use it to carry stuff, including beverages we bring. Granted, there's always the risk that something can get taken as we just leave it outside the rides, but that's a relatively low risk we accept.

Take the smallest bag you can. I was fed up of standing behind people who had backpacks with 10 pockets and non of them were open, it took ages for security to check each pocket.
