if your allowed to bring alcohol (within guidelines) and need swimsuits etc in a carry on bag wouldn't it be easier to just take it all in a rolling small carry on sized suitcase? Do people do this? I'm hoping to hit the pool first thing we board and wondering if leaving out suitcase by a pool chair is crazy?! Tia

You can bring whatever you'd like as your carry on, as long as it fits through the scanner. Max size 22X14X9.

I'm not sure I'd leave my "stuff" unattended while in the pool. One or the other of us would be babysitting it.

Ok thanks! have any other recommendations for other ways to carry everything on, do most people bring back packs or something?

Well, my husband and I use backpacks. But people use all manner of bags for their carry ons. From backpacks, to rolling bags. Whatever works best for you.

22x14x9??? Our airline is 21.5x15x9. My carry on may not fit! Better to find out now than at the port, I guess.

That will fit. My carry on is an expandable one - unexpanded for regulation carry on and then expanded if you want to check it. I had it expanded for the port and had no trouble with it going through security.

The xray scanner it has to go through at the port is like the ones at the airlines. There's actually a LOT more room than airlines allow; airline regulations have to do with the room in the bins, not the room to get through the scanners. I wouldn't worry about a matter of inches.

And many people bring rollerbags.

I'm like Shmoo, though; I wouldn't leave a bag unattended.
