Tell me about yours. One of my sons, who flies back and forth from college some, informed me that his carry on is shot. I have Hartmann luggage and I am sure not going to buy him that. What would be a decent brand? :)

When you find out let me know cause starting in Sept my son will be travling from college to home on a plane : (

I got my new Red Mickey Luggage set from the catalog yesterday I could loan him the small carry on from that set ; )

I got a 3 pc. Benetton set at TJ Max a couple weeks ago. I got it because it was lime green and I can see it better when flying :)

I bought the entire package from tiny to LARGE of the AMERICAN TOURIST line at Filenes soon to by Macy's (in this area) and you cannot BEAT THAT UP!!!

Both sons in college NOT flying home (too close) but they travel everywhere and the small suitcase with the wheels and handle are fabulous. It holds MORE then a "weekender style"! DS went to WDW March break and took it with him and it was perfect...believe me not too BIG and not too SMALL. Go on AT website and research their luggage and then look for it ON SALE.

I just double checked on the AT web site and the tiny suitcase is called TOTE and is on sale $29.99, then the next is the Expandable Carry-on Upright and is on sale $59.99 and the large one we have is called Expandable 30'' UPRIGHT on sale $99.99 and I also got the garment bag for $69.99!!!
They are called FORESTER by AMERICAN TOURISTER!!!!

Good Luck Hope This Helps!!!

Well... since you have Hartmann, a lot of the other stuff you'll find out there is going to look pretty junky. ;)

I've been happy with some Boyt luggage I found on a closeout deal at e-bags. Love their interior map print. Silly, huh?

Personally I'd rather pay a little more and get something that will last for awhile instead of going with the cheaper throw-away brands, especially if you're looking at carry-ons.
Unfortunately with checked stuff the baggage handlers can turn even quality made luggage into throw-away items.

I've never bought any AT suff - but those prices look good.

I always vacillate between buying good luggage and buying cheap luggage.

We bought a good set of samsonite, and it's holding up pretty well, but I hate when I see the way the airline baggage people throw the luggage around. I know that they can't handle every piece as if it was fine china or nobody would ever get anywhere, but I have really seen some of them throw luggage around when it was not necessary to do so.

I generally look for ballistic nylon (resists punctures/tear). I look at the handle & the zipper to make sure they look pretty strudy. I look at the wheels to make sure they look pretty sturdy and don't stick out too far from the "body" of the luggage so they can't snap off. If you can find it in an odd color, that he;ps, because then you can see it better coming off the luggage carousel.
