I can barely believe we arrive at Art of Animation in just 3 days !!! Any must haves for my carry on bag ? We will be flying with a 2 1/2 and 5 yr old and we should arrive around 1:30pm. Should I bring bathing suits ? I won't be able to pack sunscreen on my carry on I assume... I am a little lost on what to bring on my carry on so any help will be appreciated.

Thanks

Bathing suits, cover-ups and flip flops or water shoes absolutely! But no, you won't be able to pack sunscreen in your carry-on unless it's travel size (3.4 ounces or 100ml or less). Maybe apply the cream in the morning before packing it? Oh, and also include caps or floppy hats in your carry-on to protect your heads (especially the children's)!

bathing suits
travel sunscreen
sunglasses for you and the kids
wipes
diapers if the 2 1/2 year old isn't Potty trained
change of clothing for the 2 1/2 year old
emergency snack for the kids
prescription medications
eyeglasses & contacts
anything else you'd be devastated if your luggage was permanently lost

Our carry on always includes whatever we need for arrival day (such as swimsuits, flip flops, cameras, sleepwear), basic toiletries & medications, an extra day's worth of clothes, and at least one extra pair of shoes in case our luggage gets lost.

Night clothes
Swim suits
Change of clothes
Shoes....one time I went to St. Thomas and my suitcase went to Honduras for 11 days and I had no sandals or anything...so now at least 1 pair of appropriate shoes :)

I decant sunscreen into 100ml bottles. Since there are three of us we get three baggies, and since DS doesn't use much in terms of products I use his Baggie too. You can get a lot of sunscreen into a Baggie!

Your kids are both ticketed passengers and therefore get a Baggie each. Use that space.

Swimsuits, clothing for 36 hours in case of luggage delays, medications, toothbrushes (it you are particular about toothpaste, get travel size of that as we do, if not the resort store will have it)...anything YOU might need the first 36 hours or so.

Snacks, travel docs, money, id's. A book or crossword type thing for the plane. Change of clothes for everyone. That's about all I do. Diapers/wipes if you need them.

Magic bands! They will scan them to get you on the magical express, into the room if available, all that stuff. Makes it so much easier if you luggage won't arrive until a few hours later!

Great suggestions here! I also bring:

- Cleaning wipes for the trays and armrests
- Sippy cups/lid cups for the kids
- A few small paper plates/napkins (those tray tables really gross me out)
- Snacks (I bring our favorites from home on the flight down, and spend a fortune on airport snacks on the flight back)
- A few plastic grocery bags to collect the garbage before the flight attendants come around. All the snack trash and drink cups tend to pile up fast when I fly with my little guys!

We always fly with 1 carry-on per person and pack for the event of lost luggage - although I always try to book a direct flight to lessen the odds and when we drop off our luggage at the airport I always double check that they have printed out the right airport code that they put on the bags when we drop them off. But I still bring at least a few days change of clothes per person, a change of shoe/sandals, pj's, bathing suits, cover-ups and all of our RX & OTC meds. Hats & ponchos might also be a good idea too if there's a chance of rain on your arrival day along with a string backpack to carry to the parks as your day bag. I can actually pack in carry-ons for 5-6 days in warmer weather and not even check a bag. I also bring the travel size sunscreens - they're good to throw into your daily park bag too so you can re-apply during the day (without adding a lot of weight or bulk to your bag). If you bring the refillable Brita water bottles (you can fill them after you go thru security) you'll be ready to go. If you land at 1:30 and use DME it might be 3:00 or a little later by the time you arrive at your resort - hopefully your room will be ready and you can drop your carry-ons in your room & head out to the parks or change and go to the pool.

Yes!! Definitely make sure your Magic Bands are in your carry on! I forgot to mention that one.

Anything you can't live without for a couple of days or easily and inexpensively replace should go in your carryon bag. Things like prescription meds, a change of clothes, any documents you need, etc...

You may want to review the packing list at WDW Prep School at the link below to see if it sparks any other thoughts in addition to what others have brought up. They even have a packing checklist app for 99 cents if that might help. I haven't tried the app myself though.

If we are going to be swimming I bring swim gear.
If we are going to be going to the parks I wear clothes/shoes that are park friendly
If we are going to be going to bed before luggage would arrive I bring night clothes. We rarely do this since we prefer the first flight out, not last.
My phone and iPad, laptop if I'll have to work while gone
That's about it. I prefer to only bring what I can fit under the seat and avoid the overhead bins
