Hello- Anyone have one?
How does it run?
What did you pay with installation?
We were quoted $6700. It is energy star rated and qualifies for a federal tax credit of $2K and a $200 rebate from our electric supplier.
So final cost of $4500.
How does that compare to yours?
Thanks:)

We have heat pumps in our home. Mostly use for AC (our main heating system is boiler, so no ductwork to run central air). For that, they work quite well. Have tried the heating on a cold winter day in Buffalo, and it works good. It is good to know that we have backup heat in case the boiler fails.

Now, heating/cooling systems are not all equal in ability. A lot less equipment is required to heat/cool a 500 sq ft space as opposed to the equipment needed to heat/cool a 5,000 sq ft space. The ability of a system is calculated in British Thermal Units (BTU). The higher the BTU, the more heat it can absorb and move, so the more square footage it can heat/cool. Loosely, the higher the BTU, the more the system will cost.

In total, we have two condensers (the outdoor portion that either releases or collects heat) and four evaporators (the piece that hangs on your interior wall and blows the hot/cold air). This system is enough to heat/cool approx. 2,100 sq ft of a 2,300 sq ft home that is set up as ours is (the remaining approx. 200 sq ft is a second floor, front of house bedroom that we have a portable AC unit in, as we didn’t want the aesthetics of the lines running on outside of the front of our house). I’m drawing a blank on exact BTU, but I believe it totals approx. 42,000 to 44,000 BTU. Perhaps a little more.

Installed last summer by an HVAC company that mostly does large, commercial installs, it came to exactly $10k. Im guessing it would have been a little less if installed by a jack of all, master of none. I’m not sure what it is this year, but in Summer 2022, labor costs in general were quite high.

Keep in mind, I think costs of the units are pretty standardized across the country, but installation costs would vary a bit; similar to how pool cleaning services might be X in Florida, where there are 20 pools on every street, but the same service would be 3X in Maine, where there are not nearly as many. Plus, I think local, state, and electric company incentives vary considerably across the US.

Hope this helps.

Thanks For Your Reply!
This is one condenser & 2 evaporators with room on the condenser to add a 3rd evaporator.
It totals 33K BTU'S.
We had it installed this week by a very reputable 50 year old 2nd generation Plumbing & heating company.
They service what they sell.
So far so good.
The remote is like a hand held computer! It even remotely adjusts the vents!
I have to study the manual to learn all the different settings. Timers, ETC.ETC.
Thanks again for your reply.
