carribean beach under construction upgrade?

the carribean beach is under construction. I heard some get upgrade to poly for free they told me I would have to pay $1200
more for ressie 12/23-1/02/03 said no free upgrades has anyone received upgrades and what dates and how many nightsi have had these ressies since 1/02/02. I was told some people paid about $22 more a night, they want $116 more a night from me

I think people who has existing reservations prior to the closing announcement were offered upgrades for a few more $$$. But if you hadn't already booked they wouldn't be offered to you. I guess if they were, we would all try to book CBR and hope for Y&B.
Sounds like CBR will be closed longer than orginally announced if you were trying for early Jan.

Hmmm, rehab taking longer or resort bookings still down.......

If, when you made your original reservations (January, 02), you made them for CBR.... then yes, the policy was that you would be relocated at the same rate..(another moderate)...or for slightly more at a Deluxe.
This announcement was made several weeks back, and many of us on this board placed calls to the "CBR relocation team" and did receive upgrades to the Poly, AK, and the WL for very little additional money.
It is quite possible that all of the Poly (AK and WL for that matter), upgrades have now been exhausted. You should still most certainly qualify for another moderate at the same rate however.
We tried to get the Poly for the second week of December, and all of the "upgrades" were sold out, thus our upgrade at AK.
If you are a CBR "refugee".....call Disney NOW....you are going at the busiest time of year....so I doubt that there are many CBR upgrades left at any of the Deluxe resorts.

I am a CBR Refugee too. We got an upgrade to the AKL savannah view from Nov. 9 to 16, the cost of the upgrade was $12.16 total.
We have a great travel agent from AAA , she know's her stuff.
Don't take no for an answer.

When I called last week to make a resv. for Dec 29-Jan4. They told me CBR would be open then, but I instead opted for WL. Call back to double check resort will still be closed.

We had ressies for our upcoming trip @ CBR. Then, I got a postcard for WL for 30.00 more a night. So, I cancelled CBR & used the postcard to book the WL @ 30.00 more. If I would have waited a week or two, the upgrade would have been cheaper than the postcard rate!! I prob. would have saved about 200.00. Oh well, win some, loose some. Did this happen to anyone else????

What are they upgrading at CBR? When we were there last August (2001) they were just getting through upgrading all of the buildings, or so I thought. They were re-staining the bridge from the island to the food court/Pool area when we there.

They needed to refurbish Old Port Royale and the pool so they figured the best way would be to shut down the resort since bookings were low. This way people staying there wouldn't have to be without a pool or food court.

We have a reservation for Christmas week at CBR. Have had it app 1 month. It is for 5 rooms and 15 people so it is important this all works out. Is there any chance we could get an upgrade to one of these at a slight increase. Just call reservations?

The pool at CBR is not being refurbished just Old Port Royale. I asked the manager when we were there in August.

Got our call from the relocation team yesterday. We were scheduled for CBR for 12/16 thru 12/19. They are saying the reopening date is now 12/28/02. We upgraded to AK for about $20.00 a nite to a savanah room. DW is very excited
