Sorry if this is posted somewhere else - I did a search and couldn't find...

Do they still offer carriage rides at POR? If so, could someone please post the details. Do you need to call 407.WDW.PLAY for a reservation?

Thanks for your help!
;)

We went last Oct and we actually just walked up to the guy with the horse and asled if there was anything available for that night. He checked his notebook and put us in for later that night. It was about 30 or 40 for the 5 of us to ride. I don't know if we were lucky or if you need to make reservations far in advance.

The Carriage was operating last week. I have no idea about how full the bookings were though. I didn't inquire. And yes you can book by calling 407-WDW-PLAY.

So, is the price per carriage, not per person???:confused3

well, i'll just pipe a ? in here too. is there anywhere else on property that we can ger a carriage ride? and is it usualy paid at the time of the ride? TIA!

my hubby (then fiance) and I took a carriage ride the night before our wedding.. it was a great way to get away from the family and have a quiet moment together before our big day. It was $35 and I called the reservation in before hand... it was totally worth it and very sweet/romantic. We should have asked if we could bring some champagne along with us or had it delivered. Don't forget to bring your camera so the driver can take a picture of you!

I think the next time we go we'll do it again! The driver was so sweet and talked with us about disney and all the horses and how they take care of them ... it was really informative but we still felt like it was romantic and a moment for the two of us.

DF (will be DH at that time) and I are planning on taking a Carriage Ride one night. I had originally planned to book in advance, but figured we would just take our chances when we get there.

I actually called Disney myself to check on the price. It is $35.00 for the carriage, NOT per person - which seems pretty decent to me. :thumbsup2

I believe the have the carriage rides at Saratoga Springs & Fort Wilderness, too. I also saw that they have sleigh rides (Wilderness Lodge), which sounds awesome, but doubt we will make it over there for that. Check on wdw.info and it will give you all the details. I just couldn't figure out if the rate was per person or a total price.

I am going to try to "wing it" - the CM checked the schedule for me and said it was pretty open for my week so far, but did suggest making a reservation just to be sure. If I can figure out a definite time, I will take her advise. Good luck and enjoy. :goodvibes

How many people can fit comfortably in the carriage?

They did tell me how many people fit, but I am not positive what I was told. I think they said 4 adults or 2 adults and 4 kids, but you might want to call and check. Since we are 3 adults, I didn't pay that much attention - sorry.:confused3

I didn't know you could book the carriage rides at POR in advance. Thanks for the info. We wanted to do this last time but the night we had to do it the carriage was booked up. This is a definite to do next trip. :)

DW and I have done three carriage rides at POR and this year we are doing one over at teh campgrounds. It is $35, you can fit four adults, you can bring your own beverages and it probably is a good idea to make a reservation. They are very nice and romantic!
