Carriage Ride?

Has anyone did the carriage ride at POR. I'm planning on making ressie for my parents (they are in their 60's) do you think they would enjoy it, we're going in June!

We did it at Christmas & loved it. We stayed in the mansions so we had a choice to POR or the Alligator Bayou.

My dh and I did it for our 15th anniversary in '06. It was really lovely. We'd never spent any time at POR, and the grounds are so lush and beautiful. We went right before sundown.

The one thing I will say is if you have a choice, don't go with Ace the horse! He was sooooo slow that the other horse (Travis) outpaced us and we never did get to go around POFQ -- we ran out of time. I'm not sure if Ace is still there -- our driver mentioned they were considering retiring him, and that was over a year ago -- but he definitely went at his own pace, LOL!!

Anyway, I highly recommend the carriage ride. It's a very nice way to spend some time.

Do you have to be a guest at POR/POFQ to do this? If not, how do you make the reservation. I tried to find it, but couldn't get any info.

There was 2 carriages & the horses were wearing Santa Hats or Reindeer antlers. If any of my pictures are good I'll post them.
